Both trades are totally off the mark
San Jose is overpaying.
NYR is overpaying.

The first trade San Jose would not do. That is a massive overpayment on their behalf. That is literally 5 first round picks. Their rebuild program would literally be in shambles. Their biggest need is on Defense and we are giving them 2 very average d-men.

The send trade I agree with Shanacant. That trade without the Rangers taking Reilly has a better chance to fly, just without him.

The Salary is an added anchor the Rangers don’t need. Even that extra 2027 pick is a stretch. Maybe a 2nd round pick instead, either this or next, would do it with everyone mentioned and deleting Reilly. All based on Tanev passing a physical too.
