Jets- Kadri

TML- Trouba

Top 4 D

Rielly Trouba
Gardiner Zaitsev

In my opinion this is a pretty even trade for both teams. It makes the Jets better up front and the Leafs better on the back end.

On a different note, now that Phanuef is gone the Leafs can really go hard after Stamkos and possibly make him the new captain. It also gives them a better chance at drafting Matthews. Leafs management has done an excellent job so far!

New Leafs Core possibly

Stamkos, JVR, Rielly, Trouba, Matthews, Nylander, Marner

Wishful thinking maybe but a lot of things have happened in the NHL this year no one thought was possible.

If the jets trade trouba it would be to resign Ladd. In turn they would need to replace trouba with a cheaper alternative. Gardiner is cheap and locked up. It would be Gardiner + but I don't think they'd be in the market for another #2 C. They have 2 of those already.

I would love to get Trouba but I think the Leafs would have to give up a lot more than just Kadri to get him.

Jets have Morrisey in the pipeline to fill Trouba spot. Defence is there stronger position I think. If Trouba is worth more then just Kadri then Gardiner must be worth a tone as well then.

I don't see where Kadri fits in to Winnipeg, with Shiefle and Little there. Good idea but I don't see why Winnipeg would accept a trade for a centremen.

I don't understand why people say Gardiner is bad he is only -5 this year playing with Phanuef

Kadri continuously is very over rated by his fans. Is he playing differently under Coach Babcock? Of course he is. However; Kadri's shortcomings are between his ears. His on ice skill set make him at best a second or third line centre. The time under Babcock's guidance is little more than control of his frequent antics (off ice mainly) and certainly are not to be confused with sustainable changes in attitude. During the present season, he is lauded for drawing penalties. However, it is not going unnoticed that his lackadaisical coasting and "styling"during line changes have resulted in several "too many men on ice " penalties. On a team like the Leafs, killing needless penalties is a drain on already limited resources. Kadri's biggest fan is himself.
