Overall great trade for the Leafs! The 3 best parts are the following:

1. No salary retained in the deal
2. Toronto gets a 2nd round pick in 2017 and a decent prospect
3. All the players received are under contract for only 1 more season.

The Leafs will most likely unload a lot of players at the deadline and will still need to actually field a team on the ice, so they bring in 3 NHL ready players and unload only 1 NHL player.

The Leafs can play these players and look to unload them next season at the deadline.

Trades to happen

Matthias for a 2016 5th
Boyes for a 2016 5th
Parenteau for a 2016 2nd
Reimer for a 2016 1st or 2017 1st and 2016 3rd
Polak for a 2016 2nd

If offered, the Leafs should accept a trade for Komarov for a 2016 1st

If the Leafs can acquire at least 2 2nd round picks and 1st at the deadline, that is a huge win! Will walk into the draft with the following:

1st - 3 (Assuming Pitt is a playoff team)
Also assuming only acquire 1 1st from above scenarios
2nd - 3
3rd - 2.

Greening has played in the Ahl all year, michalek is injured and cowen isn't good and has barely played all year. Only possibly cowen will go because a team can buy him out and gain cap space.

I agree with you that it's possible to get a 5th round pick for each of Boyes and Matthias, possibly even a 4th however I really can't see the Leafs getting a 1st round pick for Reimer, it seems a little too high of a price to pay for a 1B goalie with a history of injury problems and an expiring contract. There may also be other goalies available at the deadline i.e. Bishop, Andersson et al. I think they could possibly get a 2nd round pick for him though. maybe. I would rather they trade Bernier and re-sign Reimer, I like Reimer.
