Looking at the Leafs prospect pool, outside of Matthews the Leafs depth at C is weak, possibly Gauthier and they keep Kadri as Nylander is a RW and probably projects best there. The depth at RW is strong with Marner, Nylander, Brown, Kapanen and Bracco to name a few. LW is very weak, best prospects are Leipsic, Timashov, Lindberg and Rychel and RD is very weak with nothing on the horizon and LD is strong with Reilly, Gardiner, Dermott, Nielsen.

Looking towards the draft and trading JVR, the Leafs need to get a LW and 2 RD prospects out of this.

To ANA: F - JVR ($4.25MM) + D - M. Hunwick ($1.2MM)

To TOR: F - M. Jones, D - B. Montour + 2017 1st round pick + D - K. Bieksa ($4MM)

By taking back Bieksa, the Ducks only add around $1.5MM in cap.

The Leafs get a top LW prospect, a solid RD prospect and with their 2 1st's in the draft they target RD - C. Foote and LW - M. Strome.

This would set the Leafs back on the right track!

I would rather go for the big goalie Stuart Skinner instead os strome because we also lack elite goalie prospects

I like it. I would just rather have jacob larsson or shea theodore included in this trade. I think they have higher ceilings than brandon montour.

Halak is on waivers. Leafs can have him for nothing but a pick. Leafs could do it with a little LTIR.

If Vegas claims him then "Oh Well, they didn't get Carrick", and we get the cap space back with just the loss of the pick.

It's better to make a deal with the Islanders who are probably going to be re-tooling.

TOR: Bozak, Dermott, Enroth (An old center, young prospect,and old goalie.

NYI: Pulock, Barzal, Halak. (two unproven prospects & an old goalie)

I think Halak wants out of town.
