With the need for a RHD to play with Reilly (imo zaitsev is not a good fit) wouldn't complain about seeing the leafs make a deal with either Vancouver or Anaheim

To VAN: JVR, and a 2nd
To TOR: Chris Tanev

Add in potentially a lower level prospect on the leafs side

To ANA: JVR, Leivo, 2nd rounder
To TOR: Josh Manson

Think either of these deals would address the leafs extreme need for a right handed, shutdown type defender, won't get the offence out of these guys like you would some other however i feel as though Reilly could develop into an elite offensive talent if he doesn't have to worry about bailing anyone out defensively

If the Leafs can trade JvR in a package like either of these, put pen to paper. Either Tanev or Manson is an upgrade. Not the caliber D they need but nonetheless, an upgrade.

Anyone who has been watching the Summer Showcase, the Leafs Liljgren and Rasanen both look real good, Rasanen obviously got a ways to go to improve his footwork and agility but if he puts it all together with his physical play, look out!
Liljgren obviously an elite skater and puck handler can rush through the opposition at will. Probably will not fit in playing with Gardiner or Rielly but, he should reach his top 4 potential. Looks better in his own zone retrieving pucks than I expected. Dahlin is obviously the class of D but Liljgren along with Brannstrom looked really good.

That all being said, Leafs will be waiting at least 1 year for Liljgren and 2-3 for Rasanen. So they will need to find an upgrade elsewhere.

Hey guys why does everyone want tanev from nucks he blows he is slow and not skilled Over paid too . we need a centre for the third line and a number one d you have to draft a nuber 1 d you trafe for the 3rd line centre. and we drafted our number 1 Tommy so we're good bud need a 3rd line c.
