Davidmackin, what about this would make you think I'm out of my mind? Nylander WAY overrated especially if you're a leaf fan, Tkachuk WAY more complete player and younger? Brings tangibles to the table that we need, already have lots of small skilled wingers, also getting Dvorak will not cripple leafs future, I guess PIerre McGuire didn't suggest this so it's a bad trade?

Yes to Dvorak great Bozak replace ment
Keep Willy if he gets traded it will be for a defencemen not a forward.

You don't write off 21 year old players. Nylander upside is much more than Tkachuk upside. Also Tkachuk has no control and is a jerk. Nylander and marner you wait on just like leafs did with Kadri.

It's not writing off a 21yo, it's trading for skill that the leafs need, Nylander always seem to be leaving us wanting more, I'm afraid that he will never become what is expected. Tkachuk might be a jerk, but he's younger, bigger and close to ppg this year, really don't understand your argument.

Success in the OHL does not necessarily translate to success in the NHL.

Tkachuk + a pick, for Nylander (Nylander has produced more offensively to date) .

I think Nylander would do great in Calgary who are loaded with great centers. Maybe he could play a year with Jagr.

Tkachuk is an abrasive and aggressive pest like Kadri, but more so. He can score, hit, fight, pass and skate.

And he plays LW, a position we have to look at this off season.

As for success: a 48 pt first year and 105 PIM is pretty damm good.

He's scoring at a slightly higher rate this year, despite the recent side shows.

You have to trade good to get good.

I'd do the other trade, even though I like Bracco, because of our need for a Bozak replacement.

Kappy can come up and take a crack at playing on the Matthews or Kadri line; Brown will take the other spot.

Tkachuk, Dvorak, Marner - together again, gives us 3 young, solid offensive lines (er! Marleau), and the ability to trade JVR, Bozak, and Leo for prospects/ futures and keep the Leafs strong for years to come.

Great trades, although Burkie likes truculence (tough players), not succulence (fancy, sweet players) ; and would fight this trade, tooth and nail.
