Leafs trade Marner, Nylander, Dermott, Amirov, 1st
Edmonton trades McDavid, Kassian

Edmonton gets Marner for Draisaitl and Nylander for RNH. Dermott for LHD they could really use.

Leafs now are three centres deep. If you believe hockey is a strong link game theory, you can have one of these guys in the ice at all times. You don’t even need a fourth line. Just an extra couple wingers to rotate in and out as needed.

Imagine a Mathews-Tavares-Mcdavid line lol. That line should be able to score 5 goals a night.

Not a bad idea at all. Edmonton might just want rielly instead of dermott though

No matter how you swing this whatever wingers and D it takes to get mcdavid you do it. 3 of the top 5 centres in the league on the ice and when you need a goal all 3 form a super line.

Does dubas have it in him to test this theory out. Now he’d have top 3 contracts in league so at least he’s sticking to that. LOL.

I keep trying to talk myself into it. It makes sense in so many ways.

You have the best forward on the ice at all times. So you are guaranteed to have the best player on the ice when the opposition has its weakest lineups out. You don’t have to try and match lineups. You just keep rolling out star after star.

No to Rielly. Weakens the defense too much. Not a big enough improvement up front for the hit in back. Dermott would be a star for them.

Would never agree to this with Captain Morgan.

Reilly is the heart and soul of this team. I would actually rather see Mathews leave than Reilly.

I doubt Edm ever trades McDavid, but if they do, this package doesn't get you him.

Besides, if you're trying to build a complete NHL roster to compete for a cup, you can't load up a line or two, no matter how talented they are.
