Here's a fun one

Tor: Reilly
Buf: Dahlin

Hear me out, I don't think the leafs can afford Reilly without selling a big piece like a Nylander and even then who knows he will be what 28 at this time so as a dman entering his prime something buffalo can't seem to find and will never get via free agency. On the other side I think dahlin has been a victim of going to a bad organization he hasn't had a guy to play with and I think it would be in his best interest to walk from Buffalo and try and save his career why not go to the biggest market in hockey?! Both players are offensive dman while Reilly is a bit better on the defensive end I think dahlin has more upside of the offensive end the leafs could bridge him at a lower show me what you got deal it's risky but why not get something for Mo

Dahlin Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Liljegren or someone else

I think I'd do it.

Buffalo wouldn't do this. A rental+1 does nothing for them as a team.

After thinking about it I agree LL maybe add a 1st maybe a prospect.

I don't see them having interest in Reilly even with a first and prospect is my whole thing. Reilly loses value the second he enters Buffalo. Every team will know he is just there so they can flip him and low ball offers will pour in (think Hall) .

To get Dahlin I think your looking at a first+Robertson+Sandin

Gives them an extra pick, a future goal scorer that can play beside Eichel immediately and someone that they can use on D immediately.

Not sure if I would pay all that but I think it's the ask.

Youre underestimating the fact Adams is a new GM, and Reilly right now is a bigger name than Dahlin.

Since deal would be in offseason rielly only has 1 full season left before ufa. Unless he signs long term before deal Buffalo wouldn’t even think about it. On the other hand rielly also wouldn’t sign long term in Buffalo unless it’s 8 million minimum for 5-6 years. Also, if he signs in Toronto before the trade I’m sure he’d have a NMC.

This kind of deal would take to many intangibles for either team to even start talking trade.

This proposal should’ve never made it through. Why the heck would BUF do this.
