VGK has not quite been able to get it done and their big names are getting older. Are they willing to make a trade that they think might get them over the hump and not destroy their future.

VGK gets a playmaker that they do not have anything similar to. Marner brings and element they don't have and he is still very young, so they are not getting an older star on big money.

Leafs get a big LW that can score signed for 2 seasons to play wing with Matthews. Carrier adds grit and toughness to the bottom 6. Krebs is an energy top 6 prospect that can play C or W. Leafs also save 2.5 on the cap.

I always like your trade proposals because they are outside the box. I agree with the idea of giving up one "star" player and add some much needed depth with the money saved.

IMO, the only hope for this team to improve is moving the salary of a star player for more depth.

Last guy traded for patch blew up in Vegas face

Now they can return the favor and grab marner a move that will blow up in leafs face

Solid deal either way though just a risky one.
