Leafs re-Sign Simmonds. Two years at $.9m per. I can think of many better choices. Brett Ritchie, for one, can do what Simmonds better and for less. He’s a UFA. It’s not the end of the world but shows you what management is thinking!

Someone playing for less means they take league minimum. Ritchie isn't doing that.

I good with the signing. Cheap veteran depth and a physical presence. Just don't sign more old vets who can't contribute.

@Hrenklin even before the wrist injury he wasn't a 20 goal scorer.

He also can't pass to save his life.

He's a solid guy to have around at 900k but he isn't what he used to be.
