Tor: Matthews, woll

Nash: forsberg, askarov, 1st, 2nd 2023

So I'm thinking this is a better long term solution for the leafs. Yes they give up the best player. But some of his goals is replaces by forsberg.

We get the goalie prospect the team needs. The true bread and butter comes in with the 2nd round pick in 2023, I'd be stocking as many picks as possible for this draft in hopes of buying Connor bedard. And we'd still have the 1st along with it.

Woll is the loss we take to replace the hole that askarov is going to leave from Nashville.

This is absolutely brutal my man. If your going after the first overall (which isn't guaranteed) then you need to dump everyone and be worse than the Sabre's for the next two years.

Worst Matthews trade ever.

Matthews is the 1 Leaf that you do NOT trade. If you want to break up the core, you would trade Nylander 1st, Marner 2nd

A slight downgrade on Nylander at RW is not terrible, and you can lower the cap charge from $6.9M to something likely in the $5M range.

Agree with T-buds. Matthews is the one guy that unless the overpay is ridiculous, I wouldn't move. Nylander you can probably get a slightly lesser player+ and create a little cap room like T-buds said. Or if cap is really an issue, you move him for a talented developing ELC+ and create more cap room to balance the roster. Marner, you need to take on a pretty good size cap hit to get a decent return.

His regular season goal scoring is incredible. But, hasn't spurned into results in the playoffs. Sure he's an incredible talent, but I think we can get more goal output from forsberg Tavares and marner on a line and 5m extra cap space and an opportunity to keep reilly past this season.

1 goal in 7 games doesn't amount to $11m and a 5th first round exit in a row.

@Hrenklin he's been better in the playoffs than anyone in the last few years. This one was clearly a case of playing injured.
