Seattle is still light at Centre. Their top draft pick is likely to not play this year so depth is an issue

To SEA: C - P. Engvall

To TOR: D - C. Fleury + 2023 4th

Cap out $1.25M

Cale Fleury is a prospect who may be a bust as he has only 1 G in 41 GP in the NHL. But the Leafs take a flyer on him in swap for Engvall who has proven more at the NHL level.

Maybe. Fleury is only 22 though (same age as Liljegren who has only 1 pt in 13 NHL games) compared to Engvall being 25. Still room for Fleury to mature. I don't think we get the extra pick though.

Replace with Kerfoot and maybe the pick happens.
And get more cap space.
Fleury is a big body and young; I’d take a flyer on him for sure.

So 6’1 205 is big bodied?

Ok

I still do trade but leafs add not Seattle.

Guess I view it differently as Engvall is an active NHLer and Fleury is not. It's also not like Fleury was a high draft pick, a 3rd rounder I believe.

@JdB1394
So yes maybe a little exaggeration on “big body”! Actually he is bigger than the average so not a stretch by any means. But he does use his size very effectively from what I’ve seen (see collision with Lucic) .

Either/ or a 22 year old D-man that still has potential to play in the NHL likely holds more value than a 25 year old forward that can't find a regular spot on a team that had a weak bottom 6.
