Nashville has the cap space to take on the extra salary from this deal.
Marner is an amazing player, but he is overwhelmed in this market. Probably best for him to reboot his career away from TO.

Forsberg is a skilled winger who plays with some edge and is known to perform in playoffs.
Also, I've heard JdB1394 give praise on Fabbro and I like his analysis, so why not add him to the deal.

I think the 1st pick to even out the trade ... Marner is 3 years younger and is owed much less than his AAV.

Have no clue is this deal makes any sense. Please give some feedback and/or some other trade possibilities to help this deal happen.

I don't think many teams take Marner on at most prices right now without retention.

Your selling a guy that's had the worst playoffs imaginable 3 straight years, who now can't even put up reg season points. Your never getting value. got to stick it out with Marner.

@LL. Probably right on riding it out with Marner and see if he can get it going. He has been working on his shot and seems determined to prove he has. Problem is, his shot has never been what has made him dangerous. He needs to get back to what makes him dangerous. He needs to start thinking pass first and if it isn't there, then shoot if there is no other option.

I don’t even think the 21st rounder is needed I like it as is

Don’t care what others think differance between johansen and marner it’s made up by kunin and fabbro

One of better deals I’ve seen
Helps Leafs cap and gets them bigger
Nashville gets faster and best player in deal

Johansen finally gets away from stigma of being the guy Nashville gave away Jones for. He might surprise us all playing with either Matthews or Tavares. He’s never had a bonifide superstar to play with
Kunin gives leafs a 3rd liner
Fabbro with muzzin being it on

Sorry I just every aspect of this deal

Even Nashville and more duchene gets a playmaker he’s always asked for

Wonder what it would take to get askarov in this deal? Any takers.

The revised looks pretty good. I agree that Johansen likely has to come back if Marner goes the other way. I think they want to re-sign Forsberg anyway.

Doesn’t make sense.
Johansen has been a complete failure as an NHL hockey player.
Why would Leafs want him?
He has nothing to offer the Leafs.
