While I don't support a tear down or start over, I think some changes are needed

A big trade I think the Leafs could pull off to move forward could be

To DET: F - W. Nylander + C - SDA + G - P. Mrazek

To TOR: F - T. Bertuzzi + C - J. Veleno + 2022 2nd round pick

The Leafs get adds as Nylander is superior to Bertuzzi, socred 34G and 80 pts vs 30G and 62pts. It would be a 1st, but the Leafs flip Mrazek in this deal.

Cap in $4.75M
Cap out $10.8M

Use $6M cap to re-sign Campbell, Gio, Sandin and Liligren

Not bad T-buds, but I don't think Detroit does it. They have lots of UFA's end of next season that are all Nylander's age or slightly older. I don't think this is the year that they make this kind of move as they seem to be stock piling picks and prospects.

That's fair. Nylander is a year younger, and signed for an extra year, figured Detroit may go for this package.

All good except I wouldn’t resign Giordano. I find he’s not able to keep up with the play.
