why would edmonton trade for kerfoot when they could and should try to sign mickeyev for free for longer at probably the same price.

I really like the first two + Sign Kadri, trade with Chicago through Columbus. Those are totally believable.

Can’t imagine Kadri resigning with the Leafs after the way he was treated in Toronto.
$4 million a year is ridiculous as it is LESS than what he is making now.
Kadri will be looking for closer to the $8 million dollar range I would imagine!

Kerfoot would be a good fit in Edmonton, as he is an excellent skater with speed. Edmonton will lose to Colorado in Conference final, they will need more offense to beat a Colorado, Tampa.

Kadri max getting 4 to 5 yrs at approx. 7.5 million, so 5 million over 7 yrs front end loaded. So before he blinks he has another 30 of his 35 million, in the bank utilizing investments and making more money. It all evens out and he extends his career in doing so, poetic justice when he hoists the Cup at home as a Leaf. Carolina is winning the Cup

Mikheyev will resign in Toronto.

Expect Florida, NYR, Detroit to continue to improve over the next to years, and Lou's teams are next bad for long. Leafs will need to improve as an early playoff exit next season, will give cause for Matthews and then Marner to move on. 5 and 6 year contracts for top dollar was negligent on Dubas part, crippling to the roster as far as cap space m, and fuel for any agents or GM's dealing with the Dubas. Mzarek was a horrible signing, that money and the Holl or Kerfoot contract would have been enough to sign Hyman. Imagine

Anybody think Hyman might have been that little something that would have helped beat Tampa? Obvious answer equates to another failure on Dubas, and why Shannahan will also lose his job.
Leafs need every advantage possible particularly a superstar coach, Trotz would be a great coach but I will happily settle for Queeenville with new Leaf management next year.
