So I’ve been proposing a Muzzin trade for some time now.

I see this move as an absolute despite, I grant you, a decent playoff.

Muzzin will be 34yo in February and has 2 years left at $5.625m.

I am suggesting that he is worth more today to a select group of teams (LAK, NYI and possibly SEA or ARIZ) than he will be two years hence.

Last season he had two concussions and IMO opinion often looked lost, slow and vulnerable on the ice. Many others saw the same thing thing.

Defenders say the Leafs need his physicality and to some extent his decent offensive abilities.

Let me state that his physicality might not be as impressive as many think.

Muzzin had but 2 fights in the last 4+ years and lost both, one by quite a margin.

Googling NHL rankings by hits show 1463 in 679 gp with 999 blocked shots. How does this compare?

Luke Schenn 863gp 2840 hits and 1340 blocked shots. Does he earn even $1m?

Radko Gudas 610gp 2253 hits and 1031 blocked shots. What does he make?

Eric Gudbranson @ $1.95 in 641gp had 1475 hits.

Hell Michael Del Zotto in 736gp had 1672 hits and 1028 blocked shots.

It’s time to cut bait and get something back while we can.

And yes by all means sign Ilya Lyubushkin or Mark Borowiecki who had 1826 hits in 454 games.

I think we need to trade Jake also he's only going to get slower and he will have decent value on the market. I'd rather hold onto sandin unless he's a part of a blockbuster pkg.

Dubas needs to get on the phone with Rob Blake in LA and see if the Kings would be interested in reacquiring Muzzin.
If the answer is yes, go to Muzzin and see if he will agree.
