Leafs overall defense needs to be upgraded before they can be considered serious contenders.
With Muzzin on LTIR which might last the season:

To Seattle:
Matthew Knies
Rasmus Sandin
2024 - 2nd round pick
Kerfoot ($3.5)
Engvall ($2.25)
Holl ($2)

To Leafs:
Adam Larson ($4)
Carson Soucy ($2.75)

Total Out: $7.75
Total In: $6.75

Reilly - Brodie
Soucy - Larson
Giordano - Liljegren
Mete - Benn - Kral

Hate to lose Sandin but you have to give to get.
Knies is a potential top six left wing for Seattle to add to their stockpile of young players.
Leafs 2nd round pick should be around #53 - #58 in the draft.
With luck Holl might will begin to play like he used to, if he is removed from the hockey pressure cooker that is Toronto.
Engvall will improve Seattle's PK bring speed to their lineup and 10 - 15 goals.
Kerfoot can fit anywhere in their roster, bringing skill, PK, 50 points and is an expiring contract opening up $3.5 million in cap space for the Kraken next summer.

I do like what Larsson and Soucy would bring to the Leafs but I’m not anxious to trade Knies.

If you replace him I’d probably be on board.

@Rsears I agree I do t want to trade Knies either. That one could hurt down the road. From what I see he’s what we’re are needing. As far as Sandin or the rest if we switch Knies with Robertson or Steeve’s and bite do it! We have Robertson’s already and Steeves well he’s replaceable by many other players in our system or one we could trade for draft etc. Having Larson and Coucey would definitely kick up our reliability on the backend and make the D keep opposing players heads up when they are out cause they both hit hard.

Swap Robertson for Knies. If they accept, then fully on board.
