3 team trade for Dubas to finish it off.

Van
Kerfoot $3.5M(Tor)

Nashville
2023 1st(Bos via Tor)
Robertson LTIR(tor)
2023 3rd(Tor via Van)

Tor
Trenin $1.7M(Nash)
Lankinen $750K(Nash retains 50%)

I know I will get the why would Van do this? They are retooling, not rebuilding. There is talk that Miller and/or Boeser may be moved. Kerfoot is just the type of guy they might want moving forward. Comes from a good culture etc.

Nash continues the retool by picking up another 1st,3rd and good prospect that can score.( I know he is oft injured, but still a good prospect and he isn't the only undersized young forward that has dealt with injuries. Josh Norris, Jack Hughes, Travis Konecny to name a few. Robertson is only 21)

Leafs pick up a big 3rd liner with term that can score, PK and play physical. Lankinen gives Leafs some goaltending insurance and a possible future partner for Samsonov should they buyout or move on from Murray in the summer.

Personally, I believe in loading up the top 6 and making the bottom 6 miserable to play against.

Bunting Matthews Marner
JT O'Rielly Nylander
Trenin Acciari Jarnkrok
ZAR Kampf Lafferty

Rielly Brodie
McCabe Liljegren
Gio/Schenn/Timmins/Holl

Samsonov
Lankinen
Murray

I have a hard time thinking anyone wants Kerfoot, but GM's do seem to like him. Reminds me a bit of Ceci. Nobody knows why, but some GM's think he's a stud.

I can see this working out. Paying a premium for Trenin, but BOS first this year loses a lot of value as they're cup favourites.

Good prop.

@ Looks ok. but Dubas does not seem to want to get rid of Kerfoot. also dunno how much more comfortable Lankinen makes me feel as i have not seen him much this year. I know it's been said Preds are retooling and not rebuilding but i'd sitll enquire about Saros. maybe offer something like this. i know the

Leafs Trdae:
1st (Bos)2023
1st (Leafs)2024
Holl
Murray50%

Preds Trade:
Saros

i know the the 50% retention on Murray seems weird but for this year it's offset by getting rid of Holl, it makes less for Preds to pay Murray next year and we only have Murray for another year next year. this gives us 3 more years of a proven guy with more experience which might come in handy against Tampa and Bruins.

Vancouver's incentive to pick UFA Kerfoot without other pieces is? He's from Vanvouver? No chance they do it as proposed.

@Rocket. After I posted this, Van traded picks for Hronek. Kerfoot is worth a 3rd and I am not a fan of his. They can negotiate and extend him now and he may give them a hometown discount.

@Loxley. From what I have heard. Saros, Josi and Forsberg are not available. Makes sense to me.
