I'm hearing whispers that Marner is close to inking a deal. Somewhere around $12Mish/ 8 years and should be signed before training camp.
Also hearing that JT will probably sign for $2-$3M/ 4 or 5 years. This sound like a great deal if true.

If Marner ready loves be in Toronto and with all the drama this summer He should sign for $10M with a 8 yr term with a NMC in good faith in an effort to help build the team and getting closer to winning the cup (future cups) . As for JT I think a $4-5M over 5 yrs is a more respectable offer. You need to remember he is still a good player. Between these 2 guys factoring increases this is a bout $7-9M for future considerations.

Where do “you hear jt signs for 2 to 3 mill a year. I have a hard time believing that. He’s still putting up 60 plus points a year this isn’t a charity.

Agree on both points, but I can't see Marner signing for less than Nylander.
And yes, JT probably deserves around $5M and it would be disrespectful for the Leafs to low ball him. But I think JT is the one who is willing to sign for a lower AAV.

JT would be a hero for signing that deal imo. He can still definitely command more on the open market.

Not sure why we are talking about resigning Mitch, unless they plan on trading Nylander. How many times are we ok with failure? I don’t care if Mitch signs for $10M, this team still doesn’t have a winning recipe. Too much money going towards soft forwards that don’t elevate their game when it matters. Plain and simple Marner or Nylander have to go and use this 11.5M for quality depth pieces with heart.

Leafs aren’t signing either player IMO
Tavares will go to free agency and sign in a tax fee state. Marner will do the same cause leafs aren’t paying him $12mil.
