You're right, I just googled it and found the following,

In an interview with @DenikSport, Radko Gudas said that he received offers from CGY & EDM & TOR. But he didn't want to play in Canada, especially in Toronto. He said the media pressure in the playoffs was crazy. He felt it even though he only played for Florida & not Toronto. Aug 2, 2023

Robertson is a one dimensional player who can only score and if hes not scoring, then he's not good for anything. He is too small, not physical and not a good all around player. He can't drive a line or create on his own. Plus, he doesn't want to play here. Only reason he's still on the team is from lack of interest IMO.
Liljegren has hit his ceiling IMO. I've always tried to cut him some slack, but he hasn't taken that next step in all these years. It's time to call a spade a spade, solid #5 D-Man who sits during playoff time (not trusted) .

Goudas is a solid, tough, physical and nasty D-man who has Stanley Cup pedigree. He is the type of player we would love him on our team, same as with Bennett. He can play well beside a more offensive partner IMO. He is the exact type of player Tre covets.
Our window is now and we need to acquire solid players who will help us win in the playoffs.

Robertson got backed into a corner because there was no interest in him. If he wanted to stay in the NHL, he had no other choice.
Liljegren is not even trusted to play on the playoffs.
