Deadline deal. Should have mentioned that.
Idea would he to stock the pound for the future. We are going to need cheap talent in the future with our future cap issues.
JVR, and Bozak are not signing with us next season.
If we can draft guys like bracco, dermott with those 2nd round picks we will be golden.
But that is just MY opinion.

If it's a deadline deal JvR garners a much better return and I doubt Toronto drops both players unless they're in sell mode, which they won't be.

if the Leafs do trade JVR at the trade deadline, they're going to get a blue chip prospect and/ or 1st round pick in return. Teams will overpay to add him.
