Leafs Marner, 4th round, Marchment

Stars Heiskanen

I don't believe this trade has been suggested before so let's see what everyone thinks.

Dallas has an absolutely horrible offense but is stacked on D. Dallas has a few guys that would benefit greatly from having Marner play beside them as well as a 1st power play player. Leafs in return get a future (if not already) top defenceman in the league. I don't think Dallas takes it one for one but if they do even better. Heiskanen is young, moves the puck (I know you love that Dubas) and scored 12 goals. He can step in right now and help almost any team especially the leafs and is not expensive at the moment leaving room to try and make a few more deals .

Agree0 Disagree1

This would not work out for Dallas’s salary cap. Either wise Marner straight up for Heiskanen would b close.

I’m a huge fan of Heiskenan. He is the best prospect defenseman in the world not named Dahlin. While I am absolutely certain he will be a huge star along the lines of Rielly, it might take a few more years. Our window to win is fairly short, 5-6 years. Burning a couple of those years waiting for Heiskenan to catch up would be costly. If it’s Marner we are trading, I would prefer someone who is a little more established (Klingberg) . The only reason I would take Heiskenan over Klingberg is contracts. Klingberg is UFA same time as Reilly and will cost a cool $10M to re-sign, whereas the young Heiskenan would be on the team a very long time and cost about half that. It’s a bit of a toss-up either way I guess.

If you watched the stars blues finals at all, which I bet you didn't. You would know that heskinen was very good. He isn't teo years away.

I did and that's why I suggested this lol. Heiskanen is going to be a force in this league for years to come and is even now. Having a cheap option on the blue line right now would be huge especially if you consider he doesn't need to play top pair until next year which takes some of the stress off of him.

Salary is the only issue but if we could pry him from Dallas as some part of a package or 3 way trade I see this being a move the leafs will love for years to come.

I didn't watch any finals envolving stars/ blues but i did watch most of the second round series between blues/ stars.

Heiskenen looks amazing just as Reilly did in his first playoff series. Then life as a full time nhl player sets in. Other teams start to know your weaknesses and expose them for all to see. Great defencemen adjust but usually it takes 3 years to determine your greatnesd. Heiskenen is definetly well on his way of establishing himself up there with the he great D of the game. He is not there quite yet. let's see how year 2 and 3 go before handing him that kind of title.

Craigger I get you like to act smart but let's break it down
1st end.
Division finals
Conference finals
Stanley cup finals

Point being I don't see Dallas trading heskinen. Not the way He was playing.

It doesn't take an intellegent person to look up items on wiki

2019 stanley cup playoffs on wiki

Scroll down page to see playoff brackets

This will show anyone who wants to know
Round 1
Round 2
Conferance finals
Finals

There are no more division finals because of the wild card teams causing a chance that teams can play one another and not be from the same division.

I to agree that heiskenen won't be dealt. However, if for some odd reason the gm of dallas decided they needed more offence then i guess heiskenen would be the first ask the leafs organisation would ask for if marner was involved.

So because if it's posted on wiki then that's the only way to say it. Lol you are a riot my friend. Guess if it's on the internet then it must be true.

Even the most recliable site for the NHL posts the playoffs in this format

Guess that site must be wrong because you said so.

12 Aug 2019 22:51:01
Who freaking care how it was posted on a website. I guess the announcers for NBC are wrong. Oh tha ts right you didn't make it to a national telecast with losing in the first round.

In the official rules of the NHL in the section where you find playoff format you find that in 93-94 season the format changed causing the league to never again call any series a division final. Conference quarter finals, conferance semi finals, conferance finals and finals. Then in 2010-11 season it was changed to round 1,round 2, conferance finals and finals.

I don't care how NBC says it. Rules are rules and i'm pretty sure colombus isn't in same division as Boston.

I watched all of the St. Louis Dallas series on CBC. CBC listed it as round 2 series.

Guess NBC and CBC both must be wrong and right.

You got more?
