You have got to be F&%$ing joking here. I mean come on. I respected some of your comments here and we have had some fun back and forth but this is not worth discussion. A 1C, 1st overall, that 30 teams would love to have for those 2, and not even a top D.

No need to get bent out of shape just because you don’t agree with the post. You should know by now that my proposals are meant to stimulate discussion. Kotkaniemi is a third overall pick and projects to be a 1C. And Suzuki is one of the highest rated prospects outside the nhl. He projects very highly as well. If this was the team we were going in to start the year with, you would be hyped about Kotkaniemi and Suzuki both. This team still challenges for a cup.

Also, the $11M+ we save from trading Matthews could be used to sign someone else. Gardiner, for example. So you could say the trade is incomplete. It’s the start of something. What would you do with $11M+ right now if you were Dubas?

Instead of getting your nose out of joint over a fake trade, why not make a suggestion to improve it? Who would you ask for to go with these two players if you don’t think the return is high enough? Brook? Juulsen? Petty? Weber? Lots of good players in Montreal.

Hey, all I am saying is any trade proposals starting with Matthews, Marner, or Reilly are non starters. I realize its a forum for discussions on trades but I side on the plausable, not fantasy.
I apologize if I offend people but when proposals for any of the young stars are posted I do get a little disgruntled.

I like Brook a lot too Craigger. Juulsen with that nasty eye injury, or whatever it was, I would be more hesitant of, even though he is more proven and was/ is more highly rated. I don’t like the idea of taking on injured players, or those players with a history of injury. Especially if it’s major and recent. You might be able to get someone like that cheap because of the injury, but that’s what happens to damaged goods. They go on sale.

That’s Brook. Boy he looks good. I’m rather anxious to see how he plays against adults now. His stats we’re padded as an overage in the WHL last year. So this year coming his first against true adult professional contenders will be his make it or break it year.

I actually think this is a pretty solid trade if MTL adds in a pick. MTL fans are bent out of shape over not have that franchise 1C they desperately want so they may do it. Neither players coming back is a top guy like Mathews but both could become great players. Add in a 1st for the risk factor and I say take it.

Not sure why you wouldn't trade Marner, Mathews or Reilly and become disgruntled about it. If Boston called tomorrow and offered McAvoy, Carlo, Pasternak and 3 1sts for any one of the three you would say turn it down immediately? Of course not, none of us would. Blockbuster deals like these have happened before and I guarantee will happen again in the future with different teams involved. Not long again some idiot traded Taylor Hall for a bag of pucks after all lol. Therefore nothing is complete fantasy as your suggesting.

heres how i view it. with matthews its hard to sign marner. without matthews marner signs easy and toronto adds 2 great players in return
