With the Leafs swapping out their top LHD prospect, and sending a young winger signed for 4 more years they get in return a top 4 RHD plus a young player who needs a change of scenery

Petan and Dal Colle are far from rookies, but I understand your point. The Leafs could dip into the FA pool and add a veteran LW if they want as they save cap space with this deal.
