Leafs trade Gauthier, Mikheyev, Marincin
Oiler’s trade Puljujarvi, Bear, Benning

I think Leafs actually save money, despite taking on Benning’s contract. Puljujarvi is league minimum and Bear is not NHL. It’s close enough anyway.

Agree0 Disagree2

No huge moves but I see where your going with it. Save a bit of money and hope you get the better young guys.

I got to say though I wouldn't take it anyway. Since the hype train started on Mikheyev I decided to watch some videos on his play. Looks like a really solid player that I want to have a good look at before Dubas ships him off.

This one is tough

Puljujarvi is closing in on being a bust. However, if he gets an audition with matthews and nylander he may have a breakout year. problem is the same can be said for Mikheyev

Bear and benning for Goat and Marincin is what makes me say yes please. can't stand that babcock would rather play the gost an extra 4 minutes than needed than just give tavares and matthews 2-3 exta shifts each. Also, If marincin is called up from marlies he doesn't sit in press box he pkays. Why?

Dealing those two solves this problem pefectly

Benning plays bottom pair all year
Bear plays another year in minors to develop
Puljujarvi gets the same chance mikheyev will be getting. Boh cold hit or miss so that part of the deal is a wash anywáys

Id do it.

Is Puljujarvi even going to be ready to start the season? I thought I read somewhere he is going to miss like half a year or something like that.

LeafsGM you very well might be correct with that.

27 Aug 2019 16:47:52
I think he signed in Finland lol.

27 Aug 2019 17:13:26
He did with a NHL op out clause so he can come back when he’s on a new team.

28 Aug 2019 01:38:10
Hope he stays there The Finnish Flush as in toilet.

28 Aug 2019 02:01:04
He has until Dec. 01 to be traded or he stays overseas. Anyone know how long until he can re-enter the nhl on a new team? No trade involved, just re-sign.

Doesnt his rights still belong to edmonton RFA if he came back to NHL?

28 Aug 2019 21:53:47
I think Edmonton owns his rights, but not indefinitely. Eventually the contract gets terminated. I think. Like how Kovalchuk was able to re-enter even though Jersey still “owned” his rights.
