redwing1 is a Blues fan. don't be fooled by his name as he has had 3-4 differant names. Blues fan on these forums for 14 years. he may be annoying at times but in reality his team did just win the cup. Braging rights . redwing1

When he debates properly with facts and real non bias knowledge he is a fun guy to do so with. The rest of the stuff you just got to ignore.

I made the mistake of thinkng he is a redwings fan. i was wrong and haven't made that mistake since.

Honestly unless the return improves the team. Or the package knocks army's socks off petro stays. Also blues have a lot coming off the books next year including Allen which would cover petro raise.

Army stated today that resigning petro is his highest priority. Faulk appears to be a replacement for jaybo who is ufa after this year.

I think Wings (or any other team) could put a good enough package together to get Pietrangelo, but it would be pointless. It would completely decimate Wings rebuild. And I doubt Pietrangelo accepts a trade from Stanley Cup winner to a bottom feeder team either. It’s just not a trade that makes a lot of sense for either team, but Wings especially.

RedWing has begun to turn into a more serious contributor lately. He can surprise both with how much he really knows about the game, especially the Blues, and in his lack of judgement in comments. When he loses his reservations and falls back in childish retorts and namecalling he can be difficult to deal with. But when he puts some thoughts into his retorts, he can actually be pretty funny and amusing and can carry a good debate conversation. You take the bad with the good. But he has become a regular contributor to the site and posts significantly more than a lot of other members on this forum. Last year’s turnaround for St. Louis is the stuff that legends are made of. A Hollywood scriptwriter couldn’t have done better. Bragging rights are his for now. If Blues win again, he’s going to need some PreparationH for that swollen head of his.

Unless Armstrong is drunk he would accept a package from any team for Petro if it was over the top value and he assumed he may not be able to resign him. Can't really say Detroit can't put together a package for him although I don't see Petro going anywhere unless he plans on resigning there. As redwing1 throws around from time to time he just had triplets. He won't want to change teams again in the off season after he is traded. This is completely dependant on him and unless St. Louis comes out like a pile of garbage I don't expect him moved anywhere. Even if they do, he may not accept it. A handful of teams could and would be interested.

All that said, Detroit doesn't want Petro unless it's for free lol.

I just wanted to add that I touched the Stanley cup today. Was amazing. It's smaller in person than I thought.

26 Sep 2019 10:09:46
The cup just got done its engraving process and will be back in St. Louis by the Blues first home game. After the engraving noone sees the cup, except high up NHL officials, until it is ready to be unvaled.

Why do you got to go back to your old ways redwing1?

26 Sep 2019 11:56:12
redwing1, I have to apologize for calling you a redwing fan (name and all) and now realize why you are calling us leaf fans down for trying to get Petro. The facts are the facts (he is a Toronto boy) and until Tavares came on board I would have never thought anyone from Tor. would want to play there - times have changed. Ok, so we can't offer anything up to get him but he will be a free agent at years end and as you stated Stl. does have the $$ to resign him but how can you justify paying your 3RD over $5-6mil.
I believe Army says his top priority is to resign Petro so why hasn't he done it, and with this latest move I am only speculating that something is up - even you have to admit that.

The cup, Joey vitalie and Darren pang where in Clayton Missouri yesterday at 3pm cst. There is a bar across the street from my office that some of the blues reps like to go to. We heard about it walked over and not only did I touch the Stanley cup I took a picture of it. I will post it on the blues forum and share the link.

26 Sep 2019 13:06:54
its called a replica

35.25 inches and 34 pounds . not small by any means

noone gets to see the engraved cup until the unvaling to everyone. its tradition. why would a player want you to see his name on the cup before he gets to see it?

engraving happens early september
unvaling happens home opener for the blues

anything else is a replicas for promo purposes.

Well same could be said for tor getting muzzin when your need was rhd. They feel faulk was better than edds and gunner. Has pp ability. They are going to place him on his off side or possibly move petro or parayko on their offside. Faulk is a long term jaybo replacement. We just don't have any top 4 Dman on the farm. Allen 4.5mil jaybo 3 mil. Year after Steen 5.5 mil all come off the books. Giving petro a 3 mil raise won't be hard. Keeping schenn as well will be the hard part. You guys were saying the same sheet about blues being in last place in December stating that parayko and petro were available and on the block. He'll even wpg sports writers are like sharks in the water right now saying that petro will be traded before Tuesday to them. Lol.

26 Sep 2019 13:22:45
replica or real cup regardless the day you had yesterday would of been awesome. I envey you for that. Meeting people you see on TV regularly and being in the presence of that achievement is great.

Closes I've been to the cup was at a parade for a cup winner. I've never touched it. i mean the closes my generation has got to even being involved in the cup is going to the hall of fame in toronto. unless you know someone who actually won it

I mean it was a fun feeling the jays winning when i was younger. I even loved it when the Rock won the lacrosse title numerous times. the Raptors winning was a great feeling but only lasted a few hours. If I see the Leafs win the cup before I die it will probably kill me.

26 Sep 2019 14:10:30
I didn't really know what to do with my hands lol. I wasn't sure if I should touch it. But I did.

26 Sep 2019 15:20:37
thats cool. congrats. never felt it (the cup) before. i'm sure it just feels like metal but still very exciting. was the dude with the white gloves who handles the cup daily there? always wanted to meet him and ask how he got such a great gig. They did do a documentary on him back a few years ago but i didn't watch it yet.

what did it smell like?

26 Sep 2019 15:57:47
Loved the Captain Underpants comment Craigger.

That guy with the white gloves has the best job ever.

26 Sep 2019 16:35:01
I thought you had to be 21 to go to a bar in the states? Are you really old enough?

26 Sep 2019 17:02:39
redwing1 is 37 from an old post where he stated his age and ice hockey strengths and weaknesses. apparently in beer league/ sr. hockey they have radar guns to measure his 91 mph shot.

thanks LeafsGM but unfortunetly i can't take credit for captain underpants as a coworker said it to me yesterday and I laughed and laughed.

27 Sep 2019 05:35:25
@Redwing1 in December had Armstrong gotten an extremely generous offer for Petro and Parayko he would have taken it. Dead last in the league he would be an idiot not too. As it turned out it was the smart move not to but I believe that was very, very, very close to being a Blues fire sale and history changing significantly.
