1st rd pick in 2021, 2nd and 3rd picks in 2020, 2021 and 2022 ( 7 picks in all )

Ceci 4.5 million, Kerfoot 3.5, Kapanen 3.2, Sandin ELC, Bracco ELC, Agostino ELC, Aberg ELC, Abramov ELC and Ian Scott ELC to Chicago for Kane 10.5,Lehner 5, Strome ELC and Nylander ELC. Chicago eats 5 million annually on Kanes contract, to facilitate the trade.

One conditional 1st rd pick for each Cup victory for either the 2019 / 2020, 2020 / 2021 or 2021 / 2022 seasons. Max of two picks to be given, Leafs can choose between either giving a 1st rd pick in 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025, and picks are not lottery protected.

Tavares Marner Kane
Mathews Nylander Nylander
Strome Mikheyev Johnsson
Spezza Engvall Hyman

Gauthier Petan Timashov Aberg

Reilly Barrie
Muzzin Holl
Dermott Liljegren

Anderson Lehner

1st PP Tavares Marner Kane Mathews Reilly

2nd PP Strome Spezza Nylander Nylander Barrie

Tavares Matthews Strome and Spezza as your 4 Centres. Tavares Marner Kane would be as good or better, than any line in the league.

With the talent of Strome, Mikheyev and Johnsson as your third line, a good safeguard that all 3 players can fill a top 6 role if needed due to any injuries.Leafs of course have an abundance of players that can fill 3rd or 4th line duties when needed.

Lehner is a great insurance policy to have, capable of quality starts as a backup or starter.Which sometimes is needed a little more so, if your starter were to go down to injury.

A win win for both teams, makes the Leafs instant Cup favorite, also kickstarts with many assets an instant rebuild in Chicago. 5 years down the road Chicago are the favorite, and Toronto is then rebuilding after a couple or few cups ? Leafs window is now.

And the winner of the most imaginative trade of the year, by far, goes to Kennedy. Unsurprisingly, as Kennedy has shown all year an amazing talent of reaching deep into the recesses of his mind and formulating the most epic of trades on a daily basis. Unicorns for sure, but highly enjoyable and entertaining to read, and most importantly, they get you thinking! What if? Or much for this guy? Who would fit best?

Understanding there is still a week before the year ends, there is still a chance that a more off-the-wall trade proposal may yet be posted. But if there is, you can be sure that person contributing it would be Kennedy.

Leafs would happily accept this Christmas gift from Chicago. After they figure out what all the stipulations mean. Lol.

Kane contract expires after the 2022 / 2023 season, is Chicago a cup contenders from now till then?

Mathhews a UFA after 2023 / 2024
Tavares a UFA after 2024 / 2025
Nylander a UFA after 2024 / 2025
Marner a UFA after 2025 / 2026

With the Anderson contract expiring after 2020 / 2021 and Reilly after 2021 / 2022. The Leafs window is right now, and even one cup worth it. A team has to overpay with prospects and picks to attain a teams star player, and persuade some salary retention to help resolve any cap issues though it can be done. Would Kane like a couple or few more Cup rings, I think Kane, Strome, Nylander and Lehner would jump at the chance.

Question if the Leafs would happily accept this trade, and of the two teams Toronto is considered to be a current Cup contender but not necessarily a favorite. Would that not suggest Chicago benefits more from a pool of role players, picks and prospects, and would also happily do this trade.

I kinda think Chicago wants to compete now actually Kennedy. Bowman’s job pretty much hangs on them making playoffs this year. Lol. Just because a trade benefits the Leafs and they happily accept, doesn’t mean the same holds true for the other team.

This deal is very very crazy. Crazier than the deal is the fact kennedy keeps defending it like he believes it can actually happen.

Kane, strome, nylander and lehner with lots of money retained for kerfoot, kapanen and .3 prospects in bracco, sandin and scott along with garbage and 7 picks with more to come if cups happen.

The most ever approved in league history is a 10 player deal. Would the league approve a 16 asset for 4 asset deal. i'd write I've seen crazier things happen but i really haven't so congratulations.

Leafs definetly improve short term but long term both teams lose this deal and big time.

Well, if you put it that way Craigger, hmmm. I don’t know if Leafs should do this anymore. But then again. Crazy is as crazy does. And no one is crazier than a crap GM that should have been fired years ago trying to hold his job while his team falls to pieces. Except maybe a brand new GM decades younger than most, who hasn’t played nhl hockey, so much as sniffed the ice before he somehow magically carried his entire OHL operation into the nhl in the league’s richest and biggest theatre, only to watch it crumble against real competition (prediction 2-5 years out) .

23 Dec 2019 00:38:26
Not sure if both lose long term lol leafs win 3 cups and Chicago just picks twice in the first three rounds for 3 years lol.

Hey. I get it. I’ve felt defensive on proposals for whatever reason before. Even knowing full well I dropped a dud, I still felt compelled to scratch for some sort of justification for posting a trade idea. It happens. I tried drawing a flow chart for this deal, with all its stipulations and what nots. I believe, if I understood everything correct, Leafs stand to lose upwards of 20 players for four returning. That is conditional on the leafs winning the cup a couple times in the near future. Is it worth it? Maybe. Right now I would actually consider this crazy trade if I knew it got the Leafs a cup (or more)

With all the turnaround that will happen in this deal it may take a few weeks before the leafs get jelling together. This deal never helped their defence so it will be high scoring high octane level of play when things go right. if leafs win cup just once its a win short term for leafs. unfortunetly they only get 1.5 years to do it as the expansion draft plus salary raise of strome and nylander will cause for a major shakeup to happen . until then this new leaf team as its constructed will be very very fun to watch. that's the only for sure thing.

Looking at this deal again, you have Aberg and Agostino as ELC. They are not on ELC, they are on league minimum contracts, or very close to it.

Abramov is a real question mark for me. I would actually rather see him grow and develop a bit first before trading him. He could end up being a real steal. Only 18, he’s averaging more than a point a game this year in junior. Would really like to see how he does the next couple years first before we move him for another pick.
