Leafs trade Marner
Pittsburgh trades Murray, Dumoulin, Rust
When I posted this the first time a few months ago, everyone said they would want a better forward than Rust back. Just seeing what people’s thoughts are now that Rust is having such a stellar season?
This can happen in the off season after Dumoulin returns from injury.

If it’s Guentzel you want back, you won’t get anyone else to go with him. We need defense and goal, not offense. That’s why I’m downgrading our wing to upgrade those positions.

This is a joke right? Marner trumps just about everyone on Pitts other than sid. Only way we trade marner is for a true #1 dman, and even then i'd rather keep him.

Dumoulin is not a good enough return even with Murray who looks like is going to lose his starting job rust is ok but where does he play 3rd line just doesn’t make sense for the leafs to move marner imo.

If anything, Leafs add. Before his season ended because of injury, Guentzel was on pace for a career season. Over 40g and 90pts. Even if you think Guentzel and Marner are equals, Pittsburgh would value Guentzel more, especially because of his goal scoring, and would likely be asking for more. Not a huge add, mind you, but I honestly don’t think they would do Guentzel for Marner straight up.

Funny how every fan thinks isn't it? Every one seems to think if Marner were traded it would net a number 1 D, a top line winger and 4 1sts. Nevermind what the other team has or wants lol.

A 25 year old starting goalie 2xStanley Cuo winner, a 24 year old top 4 defensive defenseman, and a forward on pace for over 30 goals isn’t enough? That’s the joke right? That you think you can get more? If Leafs could get a package like this for Marner I would be very happy.
