Uh no actually IslandJet, you are seriously undervaluing Leafs players. Reilly is way way way better than either Provorov and Sanheim, and Marner is much younger and with greater upside than Couturier, who has never even been a point a game player, unlike Marner who has been over a point a game for the last two years.
I thought you were only a Winnipeg troll, but it's looking like you are taking a page from RedWings book and just being a troll in general now. I guess you must have too much time with the coronavirus quarantine do you. Now you got to troll the Leafs site because the main site doesn't have enough action?

I come on this site hoping to see intelligent posts and comments not just the homer biased Leaf fanatics that worship their feel good trades. Some of you that believe the rest of the leagues fan bases are blindly brainwashed by the Leaf media and that all of the Leaf players are the best in the league at their positions. With narrow minded thinking like this it's no wonder the Leafs have to grossly overpay their players because the players believe the garbage written about them coupled with the hero worship bestowed upon the players who have yet to win a playoff series. No trolling just wishing for some good non delusional posts.

I guess Connor and Pionk is the comparable now. So you're telling me that you would value Provorov, Couturier, Sanheim more than Connor + Pionk or Connor + Morrisey? Of course not. And the same holds for Leafs with Reilly and Marner. Why would we downgrade both our defense and our forward just to take on another less than elite defenseman in Sanheim? Just to fill the right side out a little? No. I'd rather move Dermott over and see how he does. Sanheim is LHD playing RHD anyway, same as Dermott would be. The effect would be the same.

A lot of people here do tend to value players far higher than they should but on the flip side you and redwing value leafs players far less than you should. It's a bias opinion that goes both ways.

Couturier more than makes up for being a slightly below point per game player by being a center, that is a far more valuable position and being far, far better defensively than Marner. Unfortunately, as Leaf fans have discovered, if you're an all offense and no defense team, you're barely a playoff team.
You also have to take into account that Marner plays in the Leafs system, where none of the leaf forwards are tasked with helping out defensively. If Marner played for any other team his point totals would go down, as any other NHL team requires their forwards to help out defensively and not just hang in the neutral zone waiting for a stretch pass. Plus about 3 mil in overpay on Marner's contract.

Mebiasedjoe you burned your credibility a long time ago. Anything you have to say is dismissed. Couturier is centre so that makes him more valuable is the dumbest thing j ever heard. If anything, it gives more reason why Leafs shouldn't make this trade. Why would we need still yet another center? We don't. And Provorov is not an upgrade over Reilly, so why would we downgrade from Reilly just to bring in Sanheim? We wouldn't.
IslandJet, you didn't answer the question. You said if they were signed long term. The only one signed long term right now is Provorov. So you wouldn't make this deal then for Connor + Pionk, so why should the Leafs make the deal for Marner and Reilly? It's simple, neither Jets or Leafs would do something so silly. Those guys in Philadelphia are lower tier players than any of Connor, Marner, Reilly, and probably eveb Pionk, who is doing outstanding in Winnipeg.

LeafsGM At least we know that Trouba has played for the Rangers all season. You really have no credibility and making questionable comments about trades involving the Jets make you look foolish.
