If you make it Kapanen you might have Phillies attention. Frost looks pretty good. He has done well the last few years. He pretty much passed the AHL altogether and went straight from junior to NHL. I don't think Philly makes this deal, even with Kapanen intead of Johnsson. A young elc prospect with upside is worth more to a team in transition like Philly than a middle six forward that has shown us his best. Philly rolls the dice and takes their chances with Frost is my guess. Especially with Patrick out so long with migraines. Frost might need to be the new 3C. It's his chance. He won't get the same opportunity on the Leafs.

Dermott for Sanheim is a bit of a wash. I see what you are trying to accomplish, and it's not a bad idea. Philly has a lot of good RHD. They will likely look to move one this year. Gostisbehere has been on the block forever it seems like. Maybe Philly tries something else instead? It's always worth a try.

Philadelphia has a good team. And they were getting real hot there going down the stretch. They remind me a lot like the Blues last year. A physical team that has spread of talent rather than just a few superstars and a bunch of duds, they have a good defense, a young rookie goalie that is doing super well. They could have rode that momentum to a cup this year. I'm starting to think Philly is way ahead of the curve on their rebuild and will start challenging for a cup very soon.

I believe your right on philly. Top picks for presidents trophy in the next 3 years for me are Sens, Philly and NYR. Sens will sign lehnrer if their owner decided to spend some money and be fine. Philly and the rangers are both very close to cup contenders already.

Next 3 years?

Sens in three years is a bit of a stretch, but Philly and Rangers I can see making huge advancements. Ottawa is still a few years away before they become contenders. They still need to do a lot of work there tearing down the old and bringing in the new.

The amount of picks Ottawa had in this draft is insane. If they can develop guys well they will move up quickly. They didn't even fare as badly this year as I thought they would.
