Leafs trade Marner
Rangers trade Fox, Kreider
So we drop cap, gain a very good Hyman type player, plus plug the gap at RHD.
Rangers get superstar Marner that we can't afford.
Is Kreider worth $6.5M for 7 years though?

I don't think they would give up Kreider but it does give them an absolutely dominant top line. Maybe having Panarin at 11 already makes them a bit cautious.
I would definitely do this is the rangers were down though.

Kappo had an underwhelming first year too. Maybe they would rather go with the sure thing. Kappo works out as a 2RW and they are still very happy with themselves.
Their first line would be right up there with the best in the league.

Hard to say what Kappo is right now. Not everyone comes into the league like Mathews did. Hughes had a rough year as well in a lot of ways.
I think this trade really depends on how they see Kreider. Kreider scores more than Marner and makes less but Marner is younger.

Hyman does score. more than Marner but both Hyman and Kreider are pushing 30 now. Big difference.
