Ok so here's how I see it leafs lines with only players signed at lleadt for next year

Possible players to sign to fill the wholes
Barrie, Spezza, Clifford, Gauthier, Mikheyev Ceci
Here's my honest opinion, there's no chance Ceci resigns so just forget about him, I say resign Gauthier to a 1 year 1.5 million dollar contract maybe too much idk, I also think we resign Spezza to a one year 1 million dollar deal and trust me he won't get much more in free agency. If Mikheyev takes a cut then resign him but Clifford, Barrie and Ceci are most likely gone.

The Leafs are under your scenario, only $5-6 Million over the Cap.
Why trade for Manson, when you can sign a RHD like Braun or Gudas for $3 MM.
The signing of Spezza and Gaulthier for an average of $750,000 each. Gaulthier for a $700,000 with Spezza earning $700,000 and Barbanov at $925,000.
Leafs sign Mikheyev for 2 years at $1.65 MM (Played less than half a season)
Players to trade Johnsson, Dermott, Kerfoot, Kapanen, Engvall and Anderson. $17.2 MM, Leafs can take back $12 MM.
Leafs require a Goaltender to play 45-50 games. Sign Robin Lehrer for three years at $4.5 MM or trade Anderson +
for a goaltender at $4 MM or less.
Leafs trade for Kassian for Kerfoot and Dermott.
Leafs trade Kapanen, Engvall and Johnsson for Reinhart for Buffalo. 5 years x 5 MM
Leafs save $5.5 MM and remain under the cap at around $80 MM.
Leafs strengthen at 3rd line center offensively. Leafs tougher on RW.
Leafs play Robertson.

Your not signing Mykheyev for 2 years at 1.65.maybe for 1 year. you want 2.it will cost you 2mil. also no way you are signing Lerner for 4.5 a year. he's going to want more. also don't see why Oilers would trade Kassian or why Buffallo would trade Reinhart. who I also think would want more than 5mil.

I would rather see Sandin play than Lehtonen.
Other than that, pretty much what loxley said.
I wouldn't trade for Manson he really isn't a change changing kind of player.

I think Freddie and Hyman will take discounts to stay on the team.

I can see Hyman maybe taking a discount I can't see Freddy taking one.
Even a discount from the 6-7 that I can see Hyman getting on a long term deal puts Dubas in a tough spot though. Unless Hyman takes something like 4-5.

Agee with Leafslife.4-5 million is the most Hyman should get or that we could afford.4 mil on a long term.5 million on shorter term.

Hyman deserves $6M. He deserves more than Eberle for sure, who gets $5.5, and is probably closer to what Kreider gets, which is $7. So maybe we can give Hyman $6.25? Would he accept?

Way too many moving parts.
i will say this: The thing that stood out to me the most was the suggestion of signing Lehner for $5M.
Lehnr has made it clear that his next contract he will be looking to cash in. He wants length and money. And he deserves it. He currently makes $5M. He is expecting a large raise. Most Vezina candidates make far more than he does. It's about time he gets some respect.

I'm hoping he stays for a discount but even at 6.25 it's extremely thought to fit everyone in.
