I have posted many, many ghost trades because I believe in this system he would flourish and Dubas loves that type of player. I would argue though, you don't need him as a bottom pairing guy. I posted trades for him before I saw Sandin in action.

Don't think Freddy gets that kind of a return. UFA goalies are some a dozen. Look at the lehner trade.

Marner trade I like. Rather have another prospect as opposed to a 1st though.

Malcolm Subban, defence prospect Slava Demin, and a second-round pick. I would say that's almost identical to what I asked for. I wouldn't necesarily look at ghost as a 3 lhd I'd look at this as a defense by numbers group, I'd play any of these 3 groups at even strength against pretty much anyone. So more a defense by committee the other major part of this is reilly can then be traded if we don't think we can resign him and ghost shifts up so it's just a year.

Lehner actually for a better return than I thought he did. Just had to check that.

Still don't think Freddy gets close to that kind of return though as Freddy hasn't proven to be as good as lehner, it was a deadline deal which are historically overpays to some degree and the cap staying flat I'm sure will drive down the market on every player. Last point obviously my assumption.

If Chicago would do that trade I think the leafs would highly consider it especially if they could sign Lehner to replace Anderson.

The Ghost trade is a waste of time as we already have too many LHD. Just trade Johnsson for cap space at this point.

Marner Trade is decent although I doubt the leafs trade him before Kapanen. Marino looks like he is going to be a stud but the first will be very late if the Penguins get Marner as they will automatically become the best team in the league.
Murray doesn’t make up for that value imo and I would prefer someone like McCann coming back the other way as he is young and can fill in at 3C.
So I would prefer something like Marino, McCann, and another very good young player.

The Pens trade I like a lot. But Pittsburgh can't absorb all that salary, and we shouldn't retain any either. We're still paying $1.2M for Kessel, so I don't think Pens need anymore favors from us. We would have to take a cap dump back of some sort. Jack Johnston at least plus more somehow. They just can't absorb all $11M of Marners salary.

Ghost can play RHD. I'd rather see the lineups something like this:

Reilly/ Marino
Muzzin/ Holl
Dermott/ Ghost
Sandin/ Liljegren/ Lehtonen

Something like that maybe. You might have brought in one too many defensemen, but Liljegren, and probably Sandin too, could use more time in the AHL.

Could the pens fit Marner under the cap?

I would do that trade with the pens

The ghost would be a nice pair with Marino

For the hawks i Would offer Freddy kerfoot Liljegren for dach but your trade is good too.

Pens would be at least 5 or 6 million over the cap depending on what Jarry, McCann and Riikola sign for I don't know much about their roster but they seem weaking on LD. maybe sending Dermott over and trying to add McCann would help but they's still have salary to dump. issue is Bjugstad at 4.1 and Tanev and Rust making 3.5 on 3rd and 4th line.
