So keep in mind with the Matthew's trade we are getting a 1st overall who looks to be a second line centre but could still blossom into something huge. We are getting a 7th overall which we are using to pick the most touted goalie prospect in the draft, Something we don't have. We our getting a 1st round pick next season and without a solid starting goalie it is likely to be top 10 again. We are getting subban at a good price. We are getting our starting goalie replaced. We also get an extra second round pick this year and a centre prospect that may be able to put up better numbers than goat on our fourth line.

These trades also shed a bunch of salary so we can stock up next year at the deadline with future picks as we did a retool with these trades and stocked the cupboards. We draft a bunch of rhd so we can do this sell off our expensive pieces all over again in 2-3 years to keep a young competitive team. Subban would come off the books as we need to extend our expensive guys. Salary per line based on first set of lines works out to

Leafs can go after any deadline deal they want. If they are nervous about running blackwood and campbell they could run a 3 goalie tandem and give bimmington league max on a 1 year deal or Pietro 13 million on a 1 year deal to bolster the defense and give sandin one more year to mature in the minors.

Extensions due over the next 2-4 years: nylander, robertson, Hughes hughes, Sandin, Hyman, Holl, Kapanen. Campbell, micheyev. LAffy if we land him.

This years extensions I gave blackwood around 5 million and micheyev around 2 million.

Thoughts? I know there's a lot of hate for trading Matthews and marner I just think we could spread the money out a little more.

I got to admit I stop reading right after Mathews and I’m usually the liberal one when it comes to trades but this seems like a big waste of time. now back to some Kassian trades lol!
