Not very good trades for any team but the Leafs.

Why would the leafs trade Matthews and Marner if they got Lafrenière, it’s so dumb. It would be an easy 2 cups in the next 4 years.

Imo, these trades make the leafs worse, not better.

If you think the current team never wins a cup this is amazing. You pick up all top 5 players this year including a few others.

If on the other hand you want to give this team a shot then it's garbage. I wouldn't throw in the towel yet but I see where your going with it.

Funny how islandjet thinks the leafs are a bunch of bums. With no value.

Yes it is time to rebuild
He says sarcastically.

In retrospect I think that the Marner trade is not enough from the Kings as Marner is a very good player that always plays with heart. He's worth a better return.

If Leafs win Lafrenniere, that means they would lose to Columbus in the preliminary round. Which means, in essence, they don't make the playoffs. Three years of regular season point drops, three first round exits, and then to miss the playoffs this year. I mean, do you think this team has it at that point? It's starting to be smell suspiciously like we are a team like San Jose was all those years. Except we don't have our guys under long term deals.

I wouldn't be against getting rid of some of those big contracts and replace them with elc's like you suggest. Try again, only this time they get it right and not give out such huge paying short term contracts that handicap the team.

The Ottawa deal would never happen of course because they are a division rival and this trade would instantly make them competitive. If we could find a team in the west willing to make a deal of some sort, it's a go.
