Next the trades that Dubas will make at the draft or in the brief off season will be to decrease salary costs to forwards and pick up draft picks and defensive defenceman.

4 million for 1 year
This clears the cap space of 13.7 million plus 9 million from Barrie, Ceci and Clifford NOT re'signing.
Cap in with the trades plus the increases of about 8.25 million to muzzin, holl barbaouv, lethonen, Mikheyev, Robertson, is 16 million approx.
So still about 4-5 million in cap space left.

I wouldn't trade Kapanen or Kerfoot for Risto. Also, Ristolainen is a defensive defenceman? I don't think he got the memo. Might want to send him a quick email and let him know. He looks confused in his own zone a lot of the time.
Your not getting Roy for Johnson. Send them Kapanen.
I like the Dermott and Malgin trade a lot. Was going to post one similar. got to lose some salary and the best way to do it is to trade away league minimum or close to it players for picks/ prospects. Probably how you afforded to use Dadanov at 3RW for 4/ yr.

1st Trade I would do easily as it clears cap space and gets us a defencively reliable RHD.
The New Jersey one doesn’t really make sense to me as we could probably get at least a 1st for Dermott or package him with some other assets for more then simply a 2nd round pick.
Huge overpayment for Ristolainen, you could probably almost get him for Kerfoot straight up. Adding Kapanen makes no sense.
Dadanov is a RW not a Centre and it’s highly unlikely he signs for under 6 mill. Instead I would target Erik Haula who would be a much cheaper and actual centre replacement for Kerfoot.

Buffalo trade is garbage. risto sucks defensively. rather keep players we have or trade them for something else and sign DeMelo.

We would have to expose someone on defense at the draft. Probably Ristolainen. If we do that, it would just be better to trade all those guys for picks/ prospects than for a one year rental of Risto.
LA trade - yes. All day, every day. Still a bit risky imo though because Roy could be a one hit wonder.
NJ trade - the value is close. No way Jersey would trade a 1st when chances are they suck bad again next year and likely get another top 5 pick. At this point though, you've already dumped enough salary. No need to dump Dermott for picks if the first two trades are done.
Dadanov. I'm a fence sitter. As long as Dubas doesn't give him a full NMC, it might not be a bad idea. Hard to say. Depends on the expansion draft a lot too if you want to bring a guy in multi-year like that.
