I think Kaliev is like LA’s Robertson. I’m really don’t think they move him until they are sure about what his true potential is. It amazes me how far Kaliev fell in the draft after being projected to go in the 15-20 range. I like Roy though and I would be totally fine with the leafs trading Kerfoot+ for him or even Dermott for Roy and a pick.

I don’t know if Barbanov will be ready for a top 9 role right out of the gate, and honestly I would rather keep Kapanen because he can step into a top 6 role if Marner or Nylander get hurt.

If the Hawks will make that trade the leafs would easily take it. I don’t think they trade Boqvist for a couple average players though.

As much I would like Pietrangelo to sign in Toronto, eve after all the cap space you would clear with these moves I highly doubt the leafs could still afford him. I still think St. Louis trades Bozak, Steen, and Allen to make room for him.

LA and Chicago are both aging teams whom their top players have already won the cup multiple times. Both teams are rebuilding on the fly. Both teams are drafting and builu their prospect pool to build around their aging overpriced players. Both teams are makng deals for ex top ten picks whom didn't work out for the teams thst drafted them hoping that changes when going to new team. Both teams are trying to shed salary not add to it

Bottom line is both these teams will not be trading prospects on ELC along with picks to get guys not on ELC who can't play top line for them.

On a side not if Petro signs a deal under six year expect him to get twelve million a year. Over six years it could be around nine. Either way he will want big money leafs won't have unless these deals that were presented are dealt to teams whom thini they are on cuspe of winning and need the extra players to put them over. They also need the cap space
