Tor: Johnsson Korshkov
Wpj: Lowry 3rd

I think this is good for both team Toronto could use a solid 3C and a role player like Lowry I think the jets could use some cheaper winger depth

Agree0 Disagree1

Is he a 3C though? He seemed like more of a 4C this year to me with only 10 points in 49 games, which is on pace for less then 20 in a full season. I really don’t see why we wouldn’t keep Kerfoot over Lowry.

14 Jul 2020 17:38:08
Yea he didn’t have the greatest year and he will never be a big points guy but I’m looking at cap savings and more of a role guy Kerfoot is just a guy out on the ice he’s not an offensive guy he’s not good in his own end and he’s not a difference maker where Lowry seems to be a decent shutdown player that’s big and hits everything and isn’t afraid to drop the gloves him and kappy would be fun to watch together.

Ya but imo there are a lot better 3C we can target in the off season who could provide the same amount of defensive stability. I like MJ's idea of bringing in Jankrok (see the trade above) as he is on a very good contract and he can put up good offensive and defensive numbers.

I also think Tierney and Haula would be good targets but again that would depend on whether or not their current team decides to re-sign them or trade/ let them walk.

The Jets wouldn't trade Lowry for those 2 plugs.

The Jets may trade Lowry at next year's TDL, if they are out of the playoffs. But even at that time, they won't trade Lowry for two wingers they have no need of, especially when one is drastically overpaid for another 3 years. You'll probably have to pay someone picks to take Johnsson off your hands.

Thank you islandjet and memarcus for adding two nonsense comments. Can always count on that. Last season In the full year johnsson would have been the 6th highest scorer and tied for 5th in goals on the jets lol. At 3.4 million that is actually a bargain compared to most young players in that range. At least back up what you say with some kind of useful fact.

Matt, no one cares what Johnsson did a season in the past in a fluke year. This year he came back to earth and is now an overpaid 3rd/ 4th liner. The Leafs don't have their forwards play any kind of defense and in that atmosphere he only paced for 15 goals this season. On the other 30 teams that require their forwards to help out defensively, he'd be a 5-10 goal scorer. 3.4 mil a year for that is ridiculous anywhere outside of Toronto, so he has very little value. At least backup what you say with current facts instead of cherry picked junk.

memarcusjoe,

I can write crap out my butt as well. just because you think something doesn't make it right.

Put johnsson on a line with defensive minded linemates and he could get ehlers type numbers due to he doesn't have to work as hard defensively. He has ehlers speed and cherry picks just like him. at 3.4 that's a huge savings over ehlers.

Even after a significant injury johnsson managed to get points at the same pace he did before.

Cragger I'm glad you admit to writing crap out of your butt when it comes to evaluating a trade involving an overpaid and overrated Johnson to the Jets that makes them worse. I know the Leafs are in deep cap problems but don't expect every team to bale them out by taking an expensive 4th liner and give up a cheaper and more useful player as Lowry who plays a physical game and unlike Leaf players he knows how play in his own zone.

Lowry is absolutely not better than Kerfoot. Obviously MeMarcusSlow and ImmaJerk don't know how to read a stats sheet. Or can't be bothered. A stats, advanced or not, show that Kerfoot is a superior player than Lowry. And if I am wrong, then I challenge either of you two to post the stats showing that Lowry is better. You won't, because those stats don't exist. Kerfoot is a better player in all ways offensively and defensively than Lowry. Simple as that. And if you really want, I will post the stats to prove it. Because those stats actually really do exist.

Memarcus, funny fact johnsson was on pace for the exact same numbers this year when you extrapolate to an 82 game season. Learn about hockey and do some research, it might help your player evaluation.

16 Jul 2020 00:22:28
Keep Johnnson the Jets don't want or need him and who mentioned Kerfoot in a Lowry trade? I can't wait until junior high starts again so Matt8844, Hockeyluvr can stop their senseless insults and go back to class.

16 Jul 2020 10:21:25
Sorry for correcting your hot takes with actual stats, did not realize you would find that to be insulting lol.
