This trade solves our soft play and adds a type of player we haven't had in a while to me if the leafs lose one of Matthews or marner need to go I'd rather keep the goal scorer as marner is so easy to shut down cause he never shoots the puck

Nylander wouldn't get Ottawa to trade Tkachuk straight up let alone adding. Its a fair trade but Calgary won't take on Marners contract.

I think nylander for lil chucky straight up is close, if leafs add it's like a bottom tier prospect.

The heartbeat of calgary starts with tkachuk. his value to calgary far outnumbers marners cap hit. Marner has more offence and skill but tkachuk is so much more. he is tom wilson for washington

Brady is a much lesser of the tkachuks. nylander is far more valuable than brady any day or year.

We'll put craiggers. Tkachuk plays a style that Calgary adores. They don't like the soft skilled guys as much. The west is a different beast.

Hard to say Craigger. I haven't seen either play enough to judge by eye test alone. But if you look at the stats, their first two years were very similar. Adjusting for the fact that Brady is on a much worse team, and it could be argued that he has done more with less.

Third season was the big breakout for his brother, and tends to be the real test of direction a young player will go. If Brady can improve on his last two performances, he could be just as good as his older brother. Especially if Ottawa can pull it together with all the talent they have there now. They are a team just waiting to explode. I can't wait until the Battle Of Ontario heats up again. This time though I expect big things from our nemesis.
