The Jets wouldn't trade that much for Matthews as good as he is he'll walk in 4 years to Arizona. The Jets might do the trade with Ottawa for Brannstrom, the #3 overall and another A prospect for the #1 pick.

That was just fun to do. the nfl does this trading down stuff quite a bit. heck burkey did in in 99 when it was unheard of

Matthews is a major need for the jets. The fact islandjet would prefer to keep and draft yet another winger who would what play on third line for jets or even better trade that pick for a unastablished dman and not getting rid of littles contract makes me laugh. chevey jumps all es all over this deal after seeing how diflating it is to lise a top center so recently. but hey getting a fifety goal center cones around every day doesn't it?

The rest was just to get young depth and berid the cap situation. sure it was tough to follow for the untrained eye

And I like trading down as a general rule craiggers. Same reason Pat's have been great for 20 years. No guarantee a number 22 pick is better than 30 or even 33 so if you can get a couple slightly later picks for your first why not do it?

Mathews gets this package lol. Teams would kill to have a 50 goal scoring centre in his prime who shows another level every year. He has been driving playing like a demon lately.

The Leafs would have to keep $2.5 mil per of Matthews contract to get most teams willing to take Matthews off their hands. Also if Matthews is so great for the Leafs why is he on the trade block in so many post. So many one sided pro-leaf trades.
