Andersen’s a proven goalie behind our crap defense with barrie ceci and holl and marincin. Throw a d like subban in front of Andersen And see the difference.

I disagree about Subban. Subban isn't the player he used to be. He won't be winning anymore Norris trophies.

What are the other options? Sometimes you need to gamble. At 31 at 4.5 million plus a draft pick back and maybe a prospect I think it’s more then worth it. You have to admit

We ain’t getting parakyo, petrangelo or buff. Buff will not play in Toronto. Those would be my ideal targets Over subban But that’s not going to happen. Dumba is likely worse defensible then Subban also. On top, either nylander or kapanen is expandable since barabanov and Robertson are coming in and I’d rather keep kapanen as he is grittier and plays with heart. So it’s either we get subban at 4.5, or we let the rookies play and do

OR other doable targets are benning, larsson, Colin Miller etc. Who else do you get? What is your genious and realistic defense plan? Rather then everyone’s idea of getting buff or petrangelo or parayko Cause none of those will happen. Blues won’t let there captain go, parayko is highly rated and important and buff would NEVER play in Toronto.

Eltzy you got to stop living in the past man. I understand Subban and Manson has good years, but it’s been a while now. I know players will improve when loving to better teams, but the thing is there are much better players we can target who are already putting up numbers on bad teams. RHD in bad teams who are probably much better then Manson include:
Matt Roy (LA)
Sean Walker (LA)
Brandon Montour (Buf)
Henri Jokiharju (Buf)
Filip Honek (Det)
Damon Severson (NJ)
These guys are younger, cheaper, just getting into or are already in their primes, can be controlled for much longer, and have much better stats in many aspects of the game. The price to get them is probably also what your suggesting could be required to get Manson since Anaheim wants a ton for him.
As for players of Subban’s caliber (or I guess old caliber), you have guys like Pulock, Pesce, Dumba, etc who are all better targets for the reasons above. I don’t see why, if we trade one of our young guns like Nylander, we would target a guy like Subban who is on the back half of his career over much younger and better players who are just going to improve over the next 5 years.

Subban is a terrible choice he not as good as he was in Montreal, he has decline in a bad way and he terrible in his own end.
Defense to target in free agent and trade.
Pullock, Dumba, Hamonic, Tanev, Gudas, Dillon.

Robertson and Barbanov are both LW not RW. Nylander OR Kapanen are expendable along with Johnson.

Subban also got ran out of Montreal for constantly getting into fistfights with his teammates during practice.
Calgary has a ton of UFA defensemen that are all better than Manson or Subban too: Brodie, Hamonic, Gustafsson, Forbort, Martinez, just to name a few.
It would be easier and make more sense for Leafs to pick up a UFA rather than pay assets for someone.

MostLeaf doesn't "diss" anyone for trade props. His responses are generally well thought out and insightful. If you are resentful that he didn't like a prop that you posted, then maybe that is your fault and represents an inability to accept criticism.
I mean, I'm sorry that MostLeaf didn't line you're very insightful. and thought provoking trade that you spent hours thinking up. But that's just the way it goes. I post plenty of trades I think are good and I get ripped for them. Others I throw out of the top of my head and figure I will get laughed at, and instead are well recieved.
Everyone has their own ideas of who they like and want on their team and what they would be willing to sacrifice to get there. I'm sure MostLeaf meant no disrespect by not agreeing with you. I doubt very much he intentionally dissed you. I'm sure he wouldn't make it personal. I've yet to see him do that to anyone and he's been on site for almost three years.
