Parayko's name is not going to go away. He is youngish RHD, on a good contract for two more years and plays 22+ mins. Exactly what the Leafs want.

If moving him, it is because STL obviously wants to keep Piet and feel with Piet, Faulk, Bortuzzo on the right side, Parayko could be moved.

So what would they want?
Cap room plus a quality cap friendly return. I would have to think the discussion starts with Sandin+ because with Piet re-signed, left D is the weakest and upfront they are quite solid. Leafs won't likely move Sandin, so I think we are looking at something like Parayko for Dermott, Engvall, 2020 1st(15th),2020 4th. Now they have no problem re-signing Piet and a backup while getting younger players with upside and more cost controlled.

Only other way may be to take on the Bozak contract and give a good younger forward with lower cap hit.
Parayko and Bozak for Dermott, Kerfoot, 2020 1st(15th),2020 5th. Again, more than enough room to re-sign Piet and a backup while getting younger and more cost controlled.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah blues are not trading parayko for that junk you want parayko think of something that hurts then add on that. We don't need dermot kerfoot ect. Blues just are not just trading him get over it.

These suck thanks but no thanks.

Blues can move bozak dunn and other players way before moving parayko. Technically blues don't even need to free anymore cap space with tarasenko being on IR.

SO NO.

You sent them more with the cap dump than you did without it? Lol.

If Parayko is moved they will ask for an astronomical price and someone will probably pay it. A big RHD that can play top pairing minutes on a good contract is the dream for probably 12-15 teams. Not just Dubas.

The deal I see him considering is more likely something like;

Parayko for Sandin,1st, Robertson.

At that point Dubas says no though.

I think you are overvaluing Parayko and undervaluing the 15th overall pick and Dermott. The 15th could be a high end player that ends up as good as Parayko. Dermott has a high end of a #3 and low end a #5. Engvall bottom six and good penalty killer plus the 4th. Moving Parayko would allow the Blues to keep Dunn etc and sign Piet as well as Dermottt and a decent backup. Instead of paying others to take Bozak or lose Dunn.

dude rlf

Blues have zero need for dermot or engvall. Yes the 15th has value but the other two pieces don't.

08 Sep 2020 22:21:32
Blues just say no thanks. Move bozal for a 3rd or 4th then move on.

Leafs life. I only sent more for taking on Bozak if you value a 5th over a 4th pick and are ok with sending little salary back and eating Bozak's contract. You would also have to value Kerfoot at $3.5 more than Engvall at $1.25 (which I don't) . Especially for the Leafs that would need money sent back to STL make it work or even be in bigger cap trouble.

You say Sandin, 1st and Robertson is what it would take to get Parayko, but then say Dubas would say No. So then Parayko isn't worth that if Dubas won't do it. lol

This year's 15th overall is like a top 10 in many drafts because this draft is so deep. To get Sandin, it would likely take a top 10 pick. Robertson may not even be traded for a late first at this point with what he has shown.

So you value Parayko worth basically 3 first round picks where two are top 10. In a flat cap world. good luck for STL getting that value.

Thats the point they don't expect to get that value but that's what it will taje to pry this player lol.

A player is not worth what you ask for, he is worth what you can get. So you can play the semantics game all you want, but it doesn't prove you know what the ask is or could be.
