Kerfoot and Marincin to Bennett fair trade. Leafs get 3rd gritty center and flames get good defence responsivity 3center player and 6-7defence stunt guy.

Robertson-Bennett-Simmonds third line.

And Cap situation is little better, sign Mikheyev $1,600000 aav for two years.

Let ufa and rfa players walk.

And other option: Nylander sent to Chicago and Chicago sent to leafs D. Kubalik. (maby picks flying team to other) . i want to see much More Kubalik to leafs than Nylander.

First line= Kubalik-Matthews-Hyman.

Diva Nylander want to play at the same team to younger brother.

I'm disappointed Toronto's draft, only draft player (Hirvonen and Villeneuve) is steal i think. Why Toronto didn't draft schneider? One of the poorest draft to Toronto's history.
2011 draft wortless and second wortless 2020. Amirov never play nhl.

Mikheyev elected to go to arbitration. His salary is not likely to be awarded more than $1M. The Leafs can choose a 1 or 2 year term.

I agree that 3rd line with Bennett would be grittier but kerfoot stays as long as Dubas is around. Harvard

Nylander deal works except Chicago might like cheaper option in Kubalik Iright now. Nylander is overall better but more expensive for now. Are leafs able to get baby nylander in a deal?

Yes draft was disappointing to me as well but now with Brodie on board and getting big BOG I’m ok with no Schneider. Amirov (Russian kid) skates like panarin and Barzal. Not fast north south but east west and edge work is phenomenal. His shooting I’d compare to Crosby. Not so much speed but heavy and with good precision, mostly wrist shots from within 10 feet. Uses snap shot on one timers as he hardly raises his stick up as his slap shot has no aim and his snapper is as hard (needs to improve his slap big time) only takes slap shots when no other option as a I need to remove myself from ice indicator. Defensively and aggressiveness will remind you if Uncle Leo. His draft stats combined in June put him at 5’10 ish but HockeyDB has him at 6’ now. That’s a 2 inch growth during summer. Interesting note in game since being drafted he got put on second unit centered by philly 2015 draftee Mikhail vorobyov who is 6’3 194. He replaced injured Alexander kadeykin on the line. Was playing 3rd line more defensive roll first 11 games. 1g 1a in that game in a defence first league. Guess who his real partner was on this new unit? Might remember him Nikita Soshnikov.
Ex Oiler draft pick 30 yr old 6’1 233 Teemu hartikainen leads team with 14 pets in 9 games. The lesser of the grandlund brothers (markus) has 12pts in 8 games.
New Jersey 1st round 20th overall 6’4 178 LHD shakir mukhamadullin is also on team. Was hoping leafs would get him at #44 after Amirov was picked that’s were my thoughts went hoping Dubas could sneak him in the 2nd round. Coincidently I think Dubas was thinking same. As soon as jersey picked him and before the ranger capital 1st rd switch deal was announced the trade ticket showed Ottawa leaf 44th for late second early 3rd trade was made. Think that’s when his focus went to the fins.
If u can get KHL games check out Ufa Salazar Yulayev.
Before judging this pick got to see him now on 2nd unit. Last year he played 4th line as 17 year old when season started then found himself on 3rd line by end of year as a 18 year old and learned how to play D and penalty kill. Then this year he started as a 18 yr old 3rd line 2nd PP 1st PK guy. Now he is on 2nd line. Good pick

Rangers dealt their Carolina (22) and 3rd (72) to Calgary for 1st (19) . NY wanted Schneider and if leafs had no plans to draft him (odviously they didn’t as he can’t skate backwards that well reminds me of Marincin skating wise) wish they did deal with rangers. Since rangers dealt Lias Anderson for a 2021 2nd later in the draft. wouldn't 16th overall, 137th overall and 3rd round 2021 for 22nd,72nd and lias Anderson be a great pickup. Rangers still get Schneider. Calgary still draft Zary at 19. Washington wanted Lapierre bad to switch 24 and 80th for 24 with Calgary. If leafs then did this deal they’d still get Amirov at 24 and no complaints by anyone. Yes 15 might of been a tad high for him but I think Dubas in end feared Columbus taking him at 21 so that’s why Dubas didn’t deal pick with rangers. It took his whole 5 minutes to decide. No nhl roster player deal was happening. I’m convinced rangers and leafs were talking about a trade to switch picks. The problem was Columbus at 21 Dubas was convinced would take Amirov so no deal happen. I think Dubas was right. Dubas got Amirov Columbus took chinakhov. Another good Russian playing on Omsk in KHL. Dubas had an amazing inside scoop on this kid as well. Apparently this kid is a tad smaller but better skater north south. Has one heck of a cannon but a bit of a puck hog and hit head. He also refuses to hit and shots away from getting hit. His defence is well below Amirov but ok. He has offensive potential to be 2nd liner maybe 1st liber at best but 1st PP point shot guy. However if he doesn’t get to potential he can’t be a 3rd liner and waist to be 4th liner. So it’s big hit or big miss with him. Amirov high end is top 6 but low end is uncle Leo which is effective so Amirov is safe will make nhl regardless pick.
If you wonder how Dubas got this info does the name Sergey tolchinsky ring a bell. Yeah I can’t make this stuff up. Dubas 1st export draftee in ohl and best offensive player he had with the sau. Guess if you want to know chinakov style you can call him the teenage version of tolchinsky. All the O but not enough D. Tolchinsky never worked in Carolina for same reason. 3rd year in Russia has learned defence and is shaping out to be a solid player. Dubas will be all over him once khl contract is up mark my words.

Anyways at 72 went jeremie Poirier and in 4th round William Villeneuve. Both are deadly combo last 3 years in the Q.

If only right

In end leafs got Amirov, the 2 fins, Russian goalie and V in first 4 rounds. Poirier and getting lias Anderson added to this list woulda made draft awesome but Dubas wasn’t going to lose out on Amirov so he picked him 15.

Long read but had to get all that out sorry.

Great rant Craigger!

I see the same in Schenider - best case scenario he's a Chris Tanev type, most likely a Marincin type. i was glad they passed on him and once I learned more about him I became very on board with Amirov. With his 200-foot play and decent size, I think he's more pro-ready than people think. I give it two years and he's a Leafs regular in the middle 6 and on the PK + PP2.

Good analysis, ok let's see how amirov learn to play north american style. I watch khl games about 25-30 match per season, and finnish league same 25-30. But nhl games i watch 70-90 games a season. And about 10 games OHL league and WHL league. Interesting see when Amirov play first nhl game. I quess season 2022 or at least season 2023 have to see Amirov on the nhl. Russian players are different People, personality is challenging. I remember soshnikov and i like his style to play, same with kulemin, hard working guys, if Amirov are good team player and not typical russian diva. let's see. Uncle Leo. I like that kind of style to play Hockey, Big heart play. What you thinking joey (joseph) Anderson? Ahl guy Or better? If Anderson play Leafs roster, 3 Or 4 liner? What about Travis Boyd? Just a Ahl player Or better?

Joey Anderson Right handed 5’11 190 pound RW
Not super fast but still solid skater. Not big but is fiesty. Not a super hard or accurate shot but finds ways to bet a few every year. He is a good passer and uses his teammates no matter where on ice due to his lack of stick handling confidence. He’s not a play driver but good option on a passing play as more likely original player with puck will get it right back. Plays solid 2 way game as he is solid guy to use as a shadow. Great team guy. Not tough but will defend his teammates if needed. Overall he won’t ever do what johnsson did point wise but to get a guy like him in return for the full 3.4 million cap space it’s a good deal considering.

Now I get pissed when I hear or read false crap. Yes he did play with Matthews on the US under 18 team but the report I read made it seem they know each other well. So false. Problem is Matthews was a 16 year old on this team. and was best player. Anderson was simply a 16 year old who due to Brandon warrens start of season injury made under 18 team. He got 1 game with this team. Hardly think Matthews even noticed or recalls ever playing with Anderson. Pretty harsh to write but at 16 and being a stud like Matthews I can almost be certain of this. Anderson got sent to us under 17 team. That same year after getting sent to under 17 team his 1st 10 games he played with numerous line mates only to find no chemistry and only 2 assists to show . Colin white was hurt to start season in under 18 teams first 4 games. Kunin got hurt when white returned for 4 games. Keller replaces both guys. After both were back Keller got sent to under 17 even though he had 13 pts in 8 games. On his return final 24 games Keller centered Anderson and it worked. They seemed to have chemistry. McPhee and pastujov got 4 games each as the lw and each player after games on that line got called up to under 18 for their reward. Keller and Anderson started getting pushed around by opponents as no one was around to protect them. Teams tough guy started season on under 18 team for injured Brandon Warren and got 3 games in but foolish penalties in 3rd game and maturity being a concern for this 16 year old got sent to under 17 team permanently. He played 14 games as a 3rd liner and registered 12 fights during this stretch. Hot head max jones got hurt in his 15th game and he was out 8 games. On his returned he became Keller and Anderson’s protector. In teams final 7 games he got 4g 3a and got in a fight every game. He had 1g 1a in his first 14. Jones being from Rochester didn’t want to college route (very bad student) so since London drafted him 1st rd 2014 ohl draft he decided to go that route. Both Keller and Anderson have better grades so they stayed in us program. They both played all year for under 18 us team. They were reunited for 23 games and were very successful. Kiefer Bellows joined these 2 as him and Anderson grew up rivals Minnesota but off ice always got along. The 3 had great chemistry. Keller and bellows missed 1 game at same time and 1 on separate time during 25 game season. When all 3 together were together (22 games) Anderson had 18 of his 20 points. He had 1 point in each the 2 games he had only 1 of the 2. Without both in 1 game he looked lost and -3 that game. So safe to write Anderson excellent with better skilled players.
Interesting note Joseph Woll the main goalie along with Jake oetyinger (under 17 team plays 2 goalies every game) for the under 17 team. He also played 12 games on under 18 team with Anderson the following year then went to Boston college for 3 years. Also in all but 2 games total JD Greenway was with Anderson for all 3 teams those 2 years. The 2 games he wasn’t with Anderson was a week when greenway stayed with under 18 team as joe Masonius was still hurt on the Sunday and Anderson was sent back and being undecided for teams only game that week
on the Saturday. so greenway was asked to stay with team. Friday came and masonius took practice and then was able to play on Saturday.
So greenway didn’t get in that game and missed 2 games with under 17 team that week due to this. He got sent back to join Anderson on the Sunday. Adam Fox has been Anderson’s and teams best dman both years. He has played in all but 1 game which was due to mcavoy injury to start 2014-15 under 18 season. Like greenway he stayed to wait on mcavoy getting 1 game in.
Greenway and Fox off the ice are very close childhood friends and Anderson and Ryan lindgren were close childhood friends as well. Lindgren became Fox full time d partner during these 2 years and the 4 became quite a fun group. So much that if you remember in 2016 draft the 4 were shown together in stands fooling around. Lindgren went earliest of 4 in 2nd round by Boston. Fox was next at 66 by Calgary. JD got picked 72 by leafs and Anderson gave him huge hug. Next pick the devils picked Anderson and JD immediately ran and gave him big. I remember this so clearly and always wondered why this happened. There are numerous pics of the 4 with their respective jerseys on.

Woll was picked st 62 by leafs but sat with childhood friend and 7th overall ice Keller. Woll is not as close to the 4 but the 6 were shown together shortly after enjoying the moment.
That 2015-16 us under 18 team had Keller, bellows and Frederic go in 1st round lindgren and krys in rd 2 then woll Lockwood fox greenway and Anderson in round 3. Meanwhile same draft had jones who left for London go in 1st round and non 2015 draft eligible under 18 2014-15 players Matthews tkachuk mcavoy and Kunin
Go in 1st round. What a draft for that program.

Back to Anderson after all this he went to u of Minnesota duluth. He also represented us at world jrs in 2017 for a gold and captained the 2018 team to a bronze so that shows you his character.
2016-17 in college he joined much most notably Older Alex iaffello Leaf 2012 draftee Dominic toninato
Neil pionk and Carson sourcy. Other 18 year old joining this team and childhood foes since age 9 Riley tuftle.
Solid rookie year with 37 pts playing mostly with 4 yr older Minny guy Johnson and 21 yr old Minny boy osterberg.
The team was 28-7-7 under Scott sandelin
The next year under same coach with many older guys gone he was joined by Scott perunovich, Dylan samberg his 1 year younger brother Mike. Who was a 2017 L. A. draft pick. Although not as successful due to younger team Anderson struggled with 27 pts in 36 games. with team going 25-16-3-0. But he did captain us so the year was still a success for him.

Perunovich and mike are best friends so Joey is close to Scott as well. Along with tuftle and sandberg this was quite a group that seemed to enjoy goofing around so much that the older hunter Shepard who played net would complain during practices.

4 guys stayed and Joey left for pro life. He started in Binghamton and made good impression In 13 games as a good 2 way and team guy and got called for 34 games with devils getting 7 pts mostly as 4th liner. Next season due to jack Hughes and Gusev arrival he again started in Binghamton for 44 games. Hischier got hurt so Anderson got called up and stayed up after Simmonds and Coleman left getting 6 points in 18 games playing checking role

Solid character and good pickup whether for 4th line with leafs or to
Be leader on marlies a great pickup
Hope u enjoy.

As for Travis Boyd. Solid AHL layer who is great 4th liner if injury occurs at NHL level. . Doesn’t look out of place in nhl. Point getter in AHL and a leader in locker room. In NHL he knows his role as a 4th line defensive guy and if he nets a few great but defence first additude in nhl makes him a great call up option. At 27 if leafs decide to use him in 4th line role for good he is good in that spot. Expecting more is your fault. Good pickup in depth 4th line role

He was on a horrible us under 17 team In 09-10with his buddy Reid Boucher. Team went 7-24-0-3 yuk. Grimaldi, Miller, Jake mccabe and John Gibson are the most notible guys on this team. 10-11 he was on the U18 development team made up mostly of 16-17 year olds. Boucher joined him along with Grimaldi, Miller, McCabe, copp, and Gibson was goalie. Close friend Brady Skjei along with Trouba played half year with U18 team.

Boyd went to U of Minn for 4 years after he got drafted in 6th round by Washington 2011 as youngest guy in draft. Here he met and played with older Minny boys bjugstad, schmidt and Justin Holl. He convinced his biggest foe growing up year older and 2011 draftee Kyle Rau to commit to U of M as Rau got snubbed by us program Boyd knew he was good. Eric Haula was also on this team. The following year that group was joined by Brady skjei and Chicago boy mike Reilly. This team was very good 26-9-5. With holl being only sr player returning Reilly skjei and rau still had successful season. In his final college year Holl left and Boyd became the captain. He had 41 pts in 32 games then joined Hersey that spring and took 2 full seasons in minors before during his 3rd year was called up at end of year and even for his name on cup playing 1 game that post season. He played all year with Washington in 18-19 but as press box guy getting in games during injuries. Same happened in 18-19 after he hurt himself in preseason.

On a side note you’ve heard of the
Bjugstad gardiner and holl friendship. I call BS on that as the true group was Bjugstad Holl Rau and himself. Skjei Joined this group in 12-13. This is the true Minny boy group as gardiner is much older and never played with any of them before nhl. Schmidt became a mentor to Boyd 1st 2 years in college and they became very tight. So much Schmidt signed as ufa with Washington after college ended.

Anyways in closing solid nhl 4th liner who can fill in for injury on 3rd line.

Good solid vet pickup

Does his signing keep Holl on team after reading this.

Wow thanks again graigger12! Now i know more about Anderson and Boyd, boyd play with Marlies and Anderson stunt 4rd liner nhl. I watch him (Anderson) like a scout's eye next season, i think i like that kind of player, Anderson's future is nhl as well, maby someday 3rd liner guy. I know Erik Haula good, We play together 2 and half years and We are old friends now, same city and friends as a Child. What you think about vesey joining to leafs? He can play 3rd liner with Simmonds i guess. I like very much vesey style to play. Did We need Kerfoot 3center? I don't know like Or not like Kerfoot, littlebit soft guy, pretty good defence player but how about Sam Bennett? I think Sam fits perfect leafs 3center spot. But what he value is? If 3rd line is vesey-Bennett-Simmonds i'm very happy, very aggressive line and he can score as well too. Craigger call dubas and ask why Bennett play wrong team?

12 Oct 2020 13:33:47
I’m not surprised with vesey. Dubas got kerfoot a banger and then got his harvard linemate to put some goals. Wouldn’t be surprised if kerfoot asked for vesey.

What does Joey Anderson + Alexander kerfoot =

Adam Fox

Just sayin

Cool you played with Haula and grew up with him. Held his own well against older competition.
