Chicken foot is a troll, the leafs pass on this one. Laine is going to command up to 9 million after next year and the leafs simply cannot afford that. Nylander’s contract will be much better then Laine’s, and Dubas would not throw Sandin into that trade, no chance

Nylander+1st is more then enough imo. Laine only had like 4 more points then Nylander last year, and Nylander had more goals.

Dude missed the playoffs with a sprained hand. My wrist is severely sprained right now and I'm still playing beer league because I'm to cheap to miss games I paid for. Never mind if I'm making 6 million. I play Both goalie and forward on 2 different teams, in net last night I had to play without a stick for 5 ish minutes waiting for my wrist to recover from a guy taking a late poke at my blocker. Scheifle, I get, a tear in a massive ligament. But you don't think marleau played through sprained hands and wrists with his iron man streak?

Idk, if a wrist or hand sprain puts you out in the playoffs I don't know if I want you on my team anyways. You tape it and wrap it until it's good enough to still play. Every time I take a wrist shot I'm in agony so I only shoot on great scoring chances, other wise I play the set up man. Laine could use a bit of practice passing the puck anyways.

There’s only one foward I want in return for Nylander and that would be Teravinen. Arguably a better contract then Nylander and Laine is just not needed.

Teravainen had a good contract, scores and plays better defensively. Don't think you get him one for one.

I don’t understand why Vegas chose to dump Schmidt so quick though. Especially to another West coast team. They still had time. They didn’t need to be under salary until start of the new season. They could have seen if a bidding war would start. Or maybe they thought the longer they waited, the more the price would drop as teams thought they were in a pinch.

Either way, I think it is a move the Knights will regret.
