At the end of the 2021 / 2022 season, Shannahan, Dubas & Keefe will be shown the door. Shannahan replacing Lou with Dubas was sheer stupidity, as was letting Babcock go & replacing him with Keefe. Dubas first move promote Sparks, & let the proven & capable backup leave. Hopefully ownership hires qualified people to fill their positions. Look what Lou & Trotz are doing, make my stomach turn as a 50 year Leaf fan. I plan on buying a pair of tickets, so I can heckle these bunch of overpaid losers.

At the end of 2021 / 2022

Do not resign Reilly he has regressed both defensively & offensively.

Trade Muzzin who is injury prone, & a big part of the reason the D core has not gelled as a group with him in & out of the lineup. Take whatever you can get.

Trade Matthews for 1st rd draft choices along with Marner, they both screwed the Leafs. Lou would had them both for 9 million, Matthews only signed a 5 yr deal, because Dubas is a moron.

Keep Nylander turns out his deal is reasonable.

Trade Tavares though a great player, with his weakness being skating he should not be playing centre in todays NHL. Take whatever you can get as far as draft picks.

I believe those will be some of the moves the new management team will pursue in the 2022 / 2023 season. Leafs will have a dismal 2021 / 2022 because Dubas is brutal at assessing talent, & does not give enough opportunity to Leafs prospects particularly second tier. Development in the Leafs organization is abysmal, agents for Leafs prospects would be wise to get them opportunities elsewhere Connor Brown is proof. Simmonds & Jumbo were huge dissapointments, as are Shanny, Dubas & Keefe. Bet everything you own Andersen has a stellar season next year, well rested & healthy & playing for ? Answer someone other than the Leafs. As a 50 year Leaf fan, I have to reluctantly admit the Leafs suck !

@Kennedy. Your frustration is obvious. lol

Agree with a lot of what you say, but maybe not quite to the same extent. I think Dubas has screwed a lot up and should be gone, but this team is not being gutted nor does it need to be. imo

A big move is needed, but I don't think we need a full rebuild.

25 Jun 2021 18:46:51
Baba should have stayed? No way I can agree there.

25 Jun 2021 19:03:22
Agreed with the above statement and response. Dubas should be replaced, and we have too many thorough - breeds on our team. The Islanders and Canadians are two great examples of what appears to be a well-balanced team (s) ; they have heart and grit; the Leafs didn't have enough of that and won't.

Trading Connor Brown was a huge mistake, and we need to stop trading our first rd pics for rentals.
Go Leafs!

I get the frustration, I am too. But trading away the stars for 1sts doesn't solve any problems.
The Leafs dominated all season that North Division. It was an utter shock to lose to the Habs yes, but breaking it down they lost 2 OT games (a coin toss) and took the series to 7. That series could have went either way and maybe on a coin toss OT win, the Leafs are the ones in the cup this year.

Blow it up, No. Make some changes, yes. I'd sign Hamilton and trade Rielly for picks and prospects. Sandin and Robertson up all year and sign another depth forward.

@T-buds. You realize how much your response sounds like Tanner?

26 Jun 2021 17:39:01
@Tbuds reads far too many Tanner articles lol. What a fluke TB is about to win 2 straight cups!

26 Jun 2021 22:34:47
Thats my own opinion, not from reading anything.
Yes TB on the verge of back to back. Their year long IR of Kucherov will pay off. They won't be able to do that again. Interesting to see how they get out from under their cap hell.

I am actually not a big Babcock fan, but his success as with Lou is undeniable. Neither Dubas or Keefe are an improvement over Lou and Babs.

27 Jun 2021 02:34:11
What's Babs success exactly @Kennedy? One cup after decades in the league? I wouldn't consider that overwhelming. He has a gold medal I believe as well but my cat could have coached that team to a gold medal.

As for Lou though, he turned the Islanders from failures into perennial contenders after losing their best player. Can't argue there.
