Since Leafs already ate stick paying 1.2 and if Arizona takes 4m cap hit then technically that’s 2.8 for him. Not bad. However since Bonuses are paid Kessel is owed 1 million which is right up Arizona’s ally

Guys I see them shopping are schmaltz Dvorak chycrun and kuemper

Not because of their skill or cap hit but more because the 3 skaters are starting into their backloaded end of their contracts since they were paid very little their first 2 years of their contracts

Kuemper is simply owed more than his cap hit value so Arizona might be shopping these 4 a bit more than Kessel.

Coleman was paid 1.8 million. Why give him 4.1? Goodrow was paid 925000. Why 2.4? If that's what they're looking for stay away from them

And bring back Kessel? We have a younger Kessel in Nylander.

Because that top 9 would be deadly, especially if Spezza can maintain his play from last year. If not then a 3C is your trade deadline acquisition.

Also I think all of you are severely undervaluing Coleman and Goodrow. They just won 2 cups and at that price the Leafs could actually afford one of them even at long term. Rackel and Kessel will just be rentals. Dubas knows he has to do whatever it takes to get out of the first round this year so I see him going all in.

Kessel and Kuemper are up there in age yes but again they are still great hockey players. Kessel put up over 40 points last year and always seems to stay healthy and Kuemper had a couple really solid seasons before this past one. They are both on the last year of their deal and it looks like Arizona is going to do a full scale rebuild this off-season, so they will be traded.

UFA players tend to ask for more than their worth. Just like RFAs getting overpaid for their ufa years of the contract

Your very right about that. People are talking like Coleman should be getting a 6x6 kind of deal along with Hyman and Goodrow.

None of them probably live up to that kind of contract and GM's will regret it (looking at you Vancouver and Edmonton) .
