Two trades that look minor as far as really big names, but does make changes to style of play.

Buf
Kerfoot 3.5
Sandin RFA

Tor
Girgensons 2.2
Mittlestadt RFA
2021 2nd (Bos)

Then

NJ
Mikheyev 1.65

Tor
McLeod RFA

Buffalo gets a cost controlled CW and an NHL ready young d-man in Sandin to slot in behind Dahlin while only moving two 3rd lines on their team and a 2nd.

NJ pick up a winger with size and speed to add to their stock down the middle. McLeod is a 4th line centre for them mostly, where they could try Mikheyev in their top 6.

Tor pick up a grinding winger in Girgensons who is excellent defensively and two young centre's who have not reached their expected potential to this point.

Sign both McLeod and Mittlestadt to bridge deals.
McLeod 2X$1.5M
Mittlestadt 2X1.5M
Coleman 4X$3M
Bogosian 1X$1M

Seattle will grab either Dermott or Engvall.

McLeod Matthews Marner
Girgensons Tavares Nylander
Coleman Mittlestadt Engvall?
Brooks Spezza Simmonds

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Dermott? Bogosian

Campbell
?

Should still have about $7M to fill out the roster

I like the trades, but would configure the lines differently.
I wouldn't pursue Coleman.
I would expose Holl because the lines would work out better IMO

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Lily (time for him to sink or swim)
Dermott Bogo

_______ Matthews Nylander
Robertson Tavares Marner
Girgensons Middlestadt Engvall
Simmonds McLeod Spezza

Campbell
________

Total $71.395
Approx 10M for LW1 and BU.

@rlf I tried your trade scenario on a different site but the Buffalo deal was not liked at all, even if a 1st was added instead of the 2nd.
The NJ deal was good though.

@Tagz. Well, thanks for vetting my deals. lol
I assume they didn't like the Buffalo deal because of the potential of Sandin. I figured many wouldn't like it for that reason.

Love the trade ideas regardless of 1st or 2nd round draft choice. And Kerfoot could be lost to Seattle!

I think Girgensons has some upside, especially in a new dressing room with a ‘winning team’ and Middlestat is a keeper.

The draft pick is a bonus.

The Mikheyev trade should also improve the team, even though I like Soup-man. McLeod offers a player with better hands and some real grit.

So let’s pull the trigger. fast!

@RSears. Thanks. We may need that 2nd anyway to get Seattle to take a player of our choice if Kerfoot is moved. Offer them the 2nd to take Engvall over Dermott, Girg, Mittlestadt or McLeod.
