You don't see many sign and trades in Hockey. It really is an odd thing. Like pick swaps. You never see that either.

Point being, I don't think you get a second just for the privilege.

Edm has 3 RFA's to sign with about $11.2M in cap space. Plus, apparently they want to resign Smith ($2M per) and go after Hyman ($5.5? $6M? per) . Why would they give us their LTIR player so we can use it to go over the cap when they could do it themselves?
If Klefbom is done and his contract insured, they could use his $4.1M to help their own cap situation.

@Yakushev. You do realize that LTIR doesn't allow you to go over the cap during the regular season right? It just allows you to replace that player with an equal value player, but if he comes off LTIR, you still need to be cap compliant.
