Leafs send 2022 1st + Kerfoot

Arizona sends 2022 6th

- leafs get 3.5M cap relief this year and next

- Arizona is gathering picks for their latest tank/draft cycle

- this deal mirrors the Marleau deal to dump 1 year @ 6.25M for a 1st with a 6th coming back.

While I don't think trading picks for cap relief makes sense, Dubas won't trade his biggest 4 contracts.

Previous Dubas got cap relief for picks from CLB and SJ to get the cap space for the Foligno trade.

Kerfoot would not be a cap dump. Just because Seattle took McCann instead, doesn't mean that Kerfoot is useless or that they wouldn't want him as well. Worst case, the Leafs retain $1M and probably get back a late 1st or high 2nd. Lots of teams would take on Kerfoot at his $3.5 cap hit. Leafs don't need to pay anyone to do it.

Usual nonsense from chicken foot. I don't think anyone around the game would ever suggest Kerfoot is a cap dump especially not in the same way that Marleau was.

I just feel its more than a stretch to suggest Kerfoot = 1st or high 2nd with 1M held back. Wow.

Check. There are zero. All you'll find are one-sided trades to dump him from the leafs.

If the only ones making Kerfoot proposals are leaf fans, he's a cap dump. He is not a target. He is an inclusion in trades going away from the leafs.

If you can't handle the truth, that's on you. I can support what I've said. You name-call.

@Chickenfoot what are you backing up? Your answer is "The main board doesn't have Kerfoot trades" that doesn't mean he's a cap dump.

What comparables can you come up with where a mid-late 20s middle 6 Centre making 3.5 is a cap dump? I don't even think you get a third for Kerfoot from most teams but theirs no chance you have to pay a first to get rid of him.

Francis wanted Kerfoot until McCann showed up. This wasn't a case of Seattle passing on Kerfoot and taking Engvall even though that's how you attempt to phrase it.

LL, I was backing up why I see Kerfoot as a cap dump. In a flat cap world at his salary and production, that is how I see him.

I was supporting what I had said based on the fact I have not seen one trade proposal "for" Kerfoot from non-leaf fans, just trade proposals sending him out of Toronto.

Did you ever consider that other teams fans aren't trying to trade for him because they think the cost would be too much and therefore, not worth it? There are always trade ideas where teams fans are willing to take on a "bad" contract with a sweetener or two, yet you say you see none where Kerfoot is involved. If you go by the main board as proof of things, the fact no one is trying to acquire him as a cap dump with sweeteners should tell you he is not considered a cap dump. Your logic has a major flaw in it and I hope you can handle the truth as you ask others to do.

Unless it’s a star player not many fans from other teams are coming on the boards and wasting their time on having their team pick up a middle six player. Just doesn’t happen. If anything they try to throw their middle 6 pjs yet say other teams for thst teams star,

All flash or find something else to do, that’s most people’s way of going about these boards,
