Well hell yeah! I can think of many trades that he could have made and so could all of you, so he is full of sh..t!

New York rangers for
Kaapo Kacko and Julian Gauthier
(The Rangers were interested in Nylander before Tarazanko)

Or

Toronto could trade Nylander and Mylkavov
To
Anaheim for Comtois, Max Jones and a 2nd round pick

Or

Toronto could trade Kerfoot, Mylkavov
To Anaheim for Josh Mason and Max Jones

Or

Toronto could trade Mylkavov, Kerfoot and a 5th in 2023
To
Detroit for Larkin

Dubas could only make those trades if the other team agreed.
In most of these cases the other team’s GM would probably not agree!
Mikheyev, Kerfoot and a 5th for Larkin?
Yzerman has not yet lost his mind.
He didn’t create a Stanley Cup winner in Tampa by making trades like that.
Nylander and Mikheyev for Comtois, Jones and a 2nd?
Dubas would likely lose his job for that.
